How do you style your pony's hair for display? I'd love to see pictures:)
There is always another rainbow, somewhere 'round the bend

I was hoping to see replies to this. Come on experts!! : )

I don't understand how the pics on ponies on here are lovely and glossy manes and tails, and mine are just...not.

I saw some bendy rollers today, wondered if they might work on tails. But il wait to see what people say first : )

These aren't the greatest pics, but here is my Ploomette:

I'm not a fan of tinsel in G4's, but I couldn't bring myself to de-tinsel Li'l Ploomette.

I braided her hair and twisted it up.  I had some gold ribbon, so I wrapped it around to keep the braid in place...but I needed to secure it somehow.  In my jewelry box, I had a tiny golden oak leaf pin, so I used it like a hair pick.  I fluffed the end of the braid over her forehead to make it look like she has bangs.

I liked how it turned out - I think she'd fit right in with the Crystal Empire ponies.

Cindercat - to get my gal's all glossed up, I slather them in conditioner!  When a G1 joins my herd, I wash it with shampoo, rinse, and then pile on conditioner.  I comb it through and let it sit for a few minutes.  Then I style it a little with my fingers (flatten/curl tail, wrap mane around the neck).  I let the hair air-dry.  Once dry, I go a step further and sit that pony on it's rump so any extra water will drain out the tail hole.  After 24 hours or so, I do a "squeeze test."  I squeeze the pony and if any water/suds come out of the tail hole, I let the pony sit a while longer.

I rarely use heat (hair dryer, flat iron, hot rollers, etc.) on ponies.  I know a trick for SUPER fizzy hair (think Brillo pad) is to wet it, plop on conditioner, and then use a flat iron/curling iron to tame the hair.  The thing is with this is that the conditioner gets super-duper-burn-your-skin-off HOT, so you have to be careful.

Bendy rollers will totally work on tails!  You can also use simple household objects like pens/markers/even drinking straws!  Just wrap the hair around the object of choice, secure the hair (paperclip/rubber band) and let dry.

I used sharpie markers to re-curl my Rosedust's hair:

Oh, and here are some old pictures of Buzzer & High Flier.  I used the heated conditioner method on their manes & tails.  Sadly, I don't have any before pictures...but just imagine their tails frizzed out to the max:

Scootaloo was attacked by a dog. I'm wanting to get some clay to fix her. She has some little chew marks on her DS ear. I put her hair in a bun with hair sticking out the front and covered her ear.

I'll post more pics soon.

I don't really do much in the way of styling. I've never been good at it.

What I do...

When ever I get a new pony I wash them in warm water. I cover them in hand soap and scrub them with a soft children's tooth brush being careful around symbols and eyes. Then I wash off the soap in warm water again. Next the hair. I wet the hair in warm water and slather it in conditioner. I let it sit for several minutes. If the hair is tangled, I wrap the body in a towel and sit down with towel wrapped pony between my knees. I take a comb and detangle the hair. I let sit for a few minutes more and then wash it out with warm water. Then I style. I dry the hair with a towel and get creative. If you put curlers in I let them sit for several days and then remove them.

Hope you enjoyed my routine!
