Firefly and Illustrated Book

  That pic definitely looks like my G1 Firefly, but for 6.29 I'm willing to be hopeful.  It should be a nice surprise in April

I think I'll hold off ordering until we see actual product photos but it would be cute if it was a dinky G1

I thought that was possible as well. But then she is going to be too big for the size of the product. Its just confusing.

Also I kind of thought there would be more to the book itself than just a dozen pages of new vectors with some coloured backgrounds.

My guess is that Firefly will be a scaled down version of the repro Starshine mold. I hope this leads to more G1 characters in the future in g1 styles of course.

Why does everyone think this can't possibly be a mini G1, that the pic has to be photoshop. :/ I hope the picture is exactly what we get. Really looking forward to this!

I don't see how someone would think it's photoshopped unless they did a really good job with shadows

I actually think it is Photoshopped; there is just something not quite right with the image especially around the edges of Firefly.

I'm just thinking of the fact that the hair (I mean the single strands of hair) should be gossamer to obtain that look on a "mini pony".

You know now that I look at it (and I hate looking a Jpgs because of the quality of the image) it does kind of look like the book is sitting on top of the shadow for Firefly, and your right about the edges of the pony.. I see it more now in the tail than anything!

Exactly This image is definitely photoshopped. It's not difficult to paste an image on and create matching shadows, but the clean cut edges and the difference in image quality give this one away.

G1 ponies are my favorite ponies. When I first saw the picture I thought someone just put a picture of G1 Firefly next to the box/book and just put the two images together. The Firefly in the picture just looks too much like a real G1 Firefly to me to be a picture of the Firefly that comes with the book.
