Annoyed - Seller Already Sold Item?

I bought an auction two days ago and was quite excited about it.

Tonight I get this message:

"Im sorry man i didnt realize that you bought it. But it has been sold already and i didnt even think about taking the listing down until now sorry about that. I can issue a refund in the morning when i get to a real computer instead of my phone. Sorry for any inconvenience."


Really?  You've had $99.99 of my money in your PayPal account for two days and you just didn't know someone bought your auction.  eBay AND PayPal email you when you have an item sell/get payment.

I'm annoyed.  I mean, there's nothing I can do but be gracious about accepting the refund.    Just...BAH *grumbles*

Urgh I hate this. Especially when there's no mention of it being listed elsewhere, or they sold it well before you bought it. If you're selling, it's your responsibility to keep your listings organised!

Wait.. they sold it already but the item was still listed? so they sold it outside of ebay or to someone else who messaged them about it rather than via the ebay listing ?

I would report him! Seriously if your that stupid to sell off of Ebay, which obviously happened then you deserve to be reported for not removing the listing. I believe you can probably report it on the bases that he sold outside of Ebay to avoid fees.

Have you received your refund yet or he just promised you that?

I contacted eBay to see when the auction was listed vs. when my BIN was place.  I purchased it within 24 hours of being listed.

Not much eBay can do.  Could have been an honest mistake with an auto-relist *shrug*

The auction was well worth more than $99.99, so he very well could have sold it outside of eBay (or decided to keep the ponies...or someone who was watching the auction messaged him and offered him more...)

No refund yet!  Customer service said give him until today & then open a case if I don't get my money back.

Ugh!  You can PM me to share who this seller is, if you're not comfortable posting it here.  But they shouldn't be allowed to just walk away from this without other people knowing that they behave like this.

i brought a few things i had on etsy to a live meet up, but only offered free shipping if anyone bought one.
cuz i wanted to make sure they hadn't sold over the weekend.

That's terrible.  I really wish that people would pay more attention to what they have listed on ebay. Don't list things you don't have, and if you sell it elsewhere, take it off ebay.  Sigh.  I'm sorry this happened to you   I hope you find the ponies you are looking for!

Well...it was Glittery Pinkie, Lyra, Dr. Whooves, SDCC Rainbow Dash, SDCC Bubbles, and regluar releases of Rainbow Dash, Bubbles, and Fluttershy.  It came out to $12.50 a pony ^_^  I just needed Pinkie & Lyra.

they started carrying the funko ponies at TRU and b&n too.
you can always start checking there as well.
