I have some new gals, but I forgot the blacklight at the store! :facepalm: I can't believe it... So hopefully soon I'll have some blacklight pics...

Wow, looking at all these gorgeous rehairs is really making me want to try it myself!  Of course I'd have to buy all new supplies, because I've never done any sort of customizing before.  :P  But it doesn't look too difficult, and it'd be a ton of fun thinking up new color schemes for old ponies...  :D

I know it's a late reply, but I just wanted to add my 2 cents in.  Speaking of, if it's a penny for your thoughts, and you put your two cents in, where does the other penny go?

Anyway, I just pick and chose at random.  I play around with it, set all the bags of hair on the floor in my living room, and put together things i like.  I set the ponies with matches I think look good, ask the hubby for his input, take ideas from pictures....it just depends on the mood.  I just...go with it.  Whatever comes to me, however it comes.  =]

Ughh so I was rehairing and I'm almost done the pony and I do a once over and the middle row all split :enraged: I'm sooo mad and I have no idea why it happened!! I used all the same stuff and the same plug sizes...how frustrating!

I've done that with 3 out of the last 5 ponies I've rehaired...I had to take a break because I nearly went into tears it was so frustrating!

I've also had some ponies split after putting hair in... it's so frustrating! But usually it doesn't completely ruin the pony if you can get the hair to stay in. ;)

Edit: Well I got photos of my newest three gals...

First of all...Retro Tickle - called because her colors remind me of something retro and 70s...

Then, I had this Sundance that I deflocked... turned out, she oddly had no country mark on her feet, but, also, she was a HORRIBLE deflock. Both symbols and eyes came off during the process, and I've deflocked dozens of ponies and never had have this issue. Her body feels super weird too... slick, smooth, waxy. Not like other ponies. So I decided I couldn't completely customize her, so I restored her symbols and made them just a hair more fluorescent and then rehaired her in a fluorescent rainbow, that goes from her mane to her tail, ROYGBV. ;)

And last, but not least - a beautiful little gal I got in the Baby Swap from Rhini who was in need of new hair, and I just gave her a bit more umph in color - Baby Flicker!
