Mandatory Introduction!

How old are you? I am 30 years young.
 
Where do you live? I am currently located in Manitoba, Canada.

Do you work or attend school? I have been a bookseller for 11 years now, due to never figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. *shakes head*

Who are the important people in your life? I am a momma's girl at heart, my family comes first. I have a husband of 8 years, my fur baby Sasha and a handful of high school friends rounds out the pack.


Ponies:

How long have you been collecting? I started my original collection when I was 3, when I received Gusty as a Christmas present.

Which generations of ponies do you collect? G1 only. And I can barely afford those!

What made you want to collect ponies? I just really loved ponies, and wanted to get as many as I could. I played with my ponies up until I was like, 11 years old. Kids were kids back then.

Tell us about your collection! I had a good sized collection from when I was a kid (about 70 ponies or so) then I found a mint Bowtie at the goodwill store about 4 years ago. That re-ignited the spark and I have been perusing garage sales and ebay ever since. I am very realistic in my expectations of what my collection will end up like, so I don't know if I will ever own a Ladybird or a Australian Alternate Birth Flower Pony, or find every accessory ever made, but I am curious to see how far I can get!

Wow, you had a huge collection of ponies when you were younger!  I remember when I started collecting, I too never thought I would own all of the Mountain Boys, Alt Birthflowers, etc...  but it's amazing what you can amass over the years!

Thanks for the warm welcome you guys! I don't know why I waited so long to join, but am I ever glad I did.
Yeah, I had a good sized herd as a kid, my friends used to love coming over and seeing which new ones had been added since their last visits. After serious play sessions, my mom and I would spend hours brushing their manes and braiding their tails and getting them back to tiptop shape! (Like I said, total Momma's Girl) 
I do have to admit though, I was feeling pretty good about my collection until I started looking online and realized there is more to MLP collecting world then I ever imagined.  Some of your collections make me want to cry with envy!

That's nice your mom took such an interest in your collection.

It was nice she fed my appetite for ponies lol! 
I look back fondly on it as well spent mother/daughter time. 
She now wants me to come over and help her with the cleanup of garage sale ponies she has gotten for my niece, I guess as a throwback to old times! I told her only if we get the little one involved in the process!

As for the size of some of the collections here, I myself have been collecting on and off for over 10 years.  It is amazing what you can amass over time

I know, it's hard not to envy the amazing collections, but you're right. Give it time and see what happens. I think it's more so I have to watch the $$$ I devote to my herd, then a time frame or space issues!

Yeah, there's a special place in my heart for g1's, lol.
The 70 ponies from my childhood miraculously made it through a flood, three moves and then finally to my bedroom in the small house I'm in now. I owed it to them to have a rest!

Oh fiddlesticks, you just have to get another caravan, and devote it to only ponies!
