I think 500+ is a large Collection. My Collection (G1s & G3s) is running into 3,000

Do you have pics of it? I'd love to see it!

It's definitely down to personal preferences and perceptions. With about 1400 ponies (not including duplicates) I consider that a large collection. Up to about 400 would be small, up to about 800 medium and above that large :)

I think anything under 100 is small. Or maybe even 200.

It depends on your own feelings. Personally,  I collect only the released G4s and since I have almost all of those variants I kind of consider it big for a G4 collection. However compared to a collection of ponies from all gens, mine would look tiny! I am happy with my amount though, its a simple collection and looks nice! Size shouldnt really matter, and collecting is something you dont want to turn into a competition. Everyone should be proud of their collections, no matter what size! :) We are all here because we love ponies!

Personally I don't think it matters :P As others have said everyone is going to judge by their own standards and its not always fair to judge it against one another's collections - people have different focuses, different standards, different types of collections - so what is medium to one is small to another or large to someone else. I don't see the difference as to whether someone has a "large collection of 50 ponies" or a "small collection of 400 ponies"...1 pony or 5000 ponies - we are pony collectors after all.

Small is less than 20.  :)  I know of very few people with a small collection...  even mine is medium-sized.

I think anything in the 30 and less would be considered small by me. Small does not equal bad.....just want to throw that out there. I have a span on a medium collection. I think medium is anywhere between 31 and 600 ponies. Others may think that it huge, but when you are a collector and you know how many ponies there are out there, 600 is still in the middle mark. I'm at 700+, and I would say I'm on the smaller side of a large collection. I know many people here have collections that would make mine look tiny. lol

My collection is small but it's a work in progress, 41 including my 4 g4s and my g3 Silver Rain, the rest are g1. It's smaller than my childhood collection but bigger than the collection i had before the dreaded bill in my late teens.

I think it depends on the collector. 41, and 3 on the way shortly is small too me and i wont start feeling that its medium until i go over 100.

I think anything under 100 is small. Or maybe even 200.

At first I sort of thought that 200+ constituted a large collection, but after looking at everyone's posts, I realize that it is not large at all.  I guess up to 200 is small, around 500 is medium, and around 1000+ is large.

Dang I must be on the smaller side then. I counted and have about 314 ponies as of today.

I tend to agree with most of the answers people have given, in that under 100 is small, 100-300 seems moderate and over 300 I would consider quite large...But, when you consider there are thousands of ponies to collect, 300 still seems small!
Current wish list: G1: Baby Princess Sparkle (dark purple var.), Dazzleglow (blue heart var.), Cha Cha the Llama; G3: Baby Northern Lights and Winter Ice, Pumpkin Tart Nirvanas: Any interesting Applejacks (esp. Colombian)!, Argie Tomatoberry, Sweet Tooth [/color]

Well with two totes full of fashion style and regular size ponies, plus a bag with all my blind bags in it I would say I have a decent sized collection.  But I know there are people who have way more than that.

I've been a collector since 1998 (excluding 80s childhood collecting), and I'd say my collection is absolutely small--only fifteen ponies in my permanent collection, maybe 2-3 more in the keeping indefinitely category.  It's funny b/c anyone who knows I have MLPs thinks 15-20 is SOOO many!  So yes, it's a matter of perspective.  I tend to think of a "small" collection as one that can very easily be moved, displayed, etc.--under 50 or so.
Looking for CF Minty, excellent condition! (and maybe Snuzzle and Blue Belle)

If you have 67 ponies all out on display and a non collector walked into your house, you'd have a HUGE collection. :)

LOL I know I showed my mom my collection last night and the first thing she said was. "Oh my!" LOL I think that I have a good size collection and she thinks that I have a huge one!
