Do You Think G1 MLPs look Sad?

I always thought the collectors pose ponys were sad.  After all they are not nearly as vibrant as their sisters and that makes them sad (my kid mind figured such at least).  But the rest of the ponies look happy. Some are shy, but happy like Parasol.

I think some poses look a bit sad or wistful.

CP ponies look a little bit shy to me.

I think the ponies of later generations have more energetic, bouncy, silly, youthful expressions. But no, G1s don't look sad to me. Gentle, calm, reserved, thoughtful. Some wistful or shy. I think it's a huge part of their charm and why even though I love all my ponies, none capture my heart like my G1s.

Nah, they don't look sad, the sides of their mouths have a happy upward curve. They look cute.

The only g1 I thought looked sad was the (shy pose) Bow Tie with no tail that I bought rescued off of Ebay. I would imagine having no tail would make any pony sad.

I kind of think CP ponies look sad, but in a sort of Eeyore way. Also, I have a lot of them in a line and some of the ones who have their heads set higher on their shoulders look kind of hopeful. Like 'oh, it might not actually be as bad as we thought' and then the others next to them are like 'yes it is'.  I like looking at my CP ponies in their little row, and giving them miserable voices. I have not really grown up.

Yep, I do think that some of them have a melancholy knowing look in their eyes. I think that just makes them special.

I would say some of them look 'wistful' - I think it is the eye shape.  It depends on the pose a bit though, some look more timid and introspective than others (I feel a bit silly saying that!)

No. Though as a kid, I thought Speedy looked devious. Not in a bad way, in a "hmmm what can I get into".
