I've been bitten by the G2 bug!

WHY!!!!  I have rebelled against them for so long and refused to have them in my collection.  They look nothing like G1 which crushed me in 1997 when I was excited about being able to buy them in stores again.  I've purposely stayed away from them since then.......but then this pretty little gal with my favorite color combination (yellow and pink) caught my eye.  A little research and I figured out her name was Sky Skimmer.  So I tracked her down but she came with two other G2s which I was planning to trade off, but when they came I liked them so much they are now in my collection.  Today the G2 Collectors Inventory was waiting in my mailbox and I just rushed through dinner with hubby and my boys to stalk ebay and win an auction with 5 more G2's in it.  I don't know how it happened but somehow their anorexic bodied, jewel encrusted eyes wormed their way into my heart!  I will never say never again! (Yes G3.5 I'm talking to you!).

Anyone else have a similar thing happen?

Same thing happened to me about a week ago but I only have one G2 so far with two hopefully on their way soon

Yeah I said no to G4... for a few months, then I got the international exclusive bonus packs because they were so darn cheap... then I bought all of the brushables that were out. So bad for my wallet. I now collect almost all gens, 3.5 excl.

Congrats on getting bitten  I love G2 because that was my first my little pony show\toys when I as about 4, so I am glad that now you see them as a good think and not as the bad generation.

I wish it would happen to me U've tried so hard to like G2s as I have some from my childhood, but I just can't :S I am keeping some that I find pretty, but my sentiments are not nearly as strong as for G1s and G3s Maybe one day ^^

I remember G2's used to be pretty uncommon on Ebay for a time. However, now they're all over and EXPENSIVE!!!! I just bought 3 very nice ones from overseas and ended up spending over $100!!! WOW!

I love that all generations have a pretty good-sized fanbase here, including G2. I always loved them, accepting them immediately as new My Little Ponies when they first appeared.

(The one thing I don't get is why websites insist on reporting that some of the sets were never released in the U.S., such as Sundance and Lightheart's birthday thing, Moon Shadow and her dresser, etc. They were released in the U.S.! I found them at Big Lots and Toys R Us! I can't believe no one else besides me ever found them here.)
