Your Favourite G1 Episode?

Wow! Thats more episodes than I think I remember.

So the question is simple...which is your favourite early G1 special/episode/movie!?

You can only pick one! Decisions...decisions...

The Glass Princess! Mostly because of nostalgia, though... I had that series on VHS when I was little, and I just thought it was SO cool that the ponies' hair was magic and could regrow instantly...

So much so that, years later, I based my OC on that concept!

I really should get around to watching all the rest of them again though, I can only vaguely remember a handful of other episodes...

Okay, this took a lot of debate with myself (and watching of Mish Mash Melee, which I actually have never seen before!) but I decided to go with Tambelon.

I was torn between that, Bright Lights, The Ghost Of Paradise Estate and Baby, It's Cold Outside. All four were episodes I adored as a child. And Bright Lights really is a very, very close second.... maybe I should have voted Bright Lights.... NO. Tambelon. Because it was so magical in a dark and eerie way - unicorns winking out and nobody knowing how or why, and then the discovery of an ancient, lost city returning... plus Grogar has a very awesome design. I loved how dark that show could be. (Bright Lights was also incredibly dark, which is why it gets second place. )

Rescue at midnight castle! Love Firefly, Sundance and Megan <3 The first pony episode I ever saw! Although was torn between escape from catrina! It used to be the second episode on my VHS....which is somewhere up the loft!

Also loved the golden horse shoes (Mimic <3!), Mish Mash Melee (Shady, WW and Fizzy <3), Sweet Stuff's treasure hunt and Baby its cold outside!

Have to go with Rescue at Midnight Mountain. I think I'd pick Sonambula for my favorite regular episode, if it had been limited to that.

Why only one?! The movie for sure! I LOVED Baby Lickety Split when I was little

Escape from Midnight Castle. It's epic, dark, and brings back memories of my childhood.

The movie wins for me but my favorite regular episode is Sonambula.

Well, it has to be the first two specials for the quality of the animation, but my favourite episode of the series would be Somnambula.  I watched it so often when I was little that the video wore out!

Pony Tales completely overshadows the first series for me though.

Midnight Castle!  But I also remember loving The Golden Horseshoes and the Princess Ponies episodes as a kid

I voted Rescue at Midnight Castle since it's absolutely my favorite animated MLP thing ever.

As for the TV series it's been way too long since I've seen it to choose with confidence, but Crunch the Rockdog comes to mind. Windwhistler was great in that episode and it shows so well why she is my favorite character in the series.

There are so many I loved though.
Still, I voted for Mish Mash Melee, because It was really great to see ponies swapping personalities like that.
I also love Return of Tambulon, Baby it's Cold Outside, The Golden Horseshoes, Somnambula and Crunch the Rockdog.

The Big Brother Ponies, the Big Brother Ponies have arrived!

Got to love those Big Brother ponies. One reason they were among the first targets when I started re-collecting. It was one of the only episodes I got to see before I was already a teen. Grandma taped it and a couple of others off the Disney channel for us since we had no cable. I really like Firefly's adventure too, though.
