If be fair, I hate g1 cartoon  today    I think it is one of that CHEAP  80`s cartoons, that support toy production ! UK magazines are so much better ! So imagenetive  ...

I was pretty pissapointed when I new what is mlp cartoon ! May be I expected too much in chiidhood from ponies. By the way, "Friedship is magic" is near perfect. If I saw it as a child!

Oh, so hard to decide - but in the end I went with the movie. I love that you get to see so much of the world. Rescue at Midnight Castle is special to me as well.

Fugitive Flowers! Both for Posey and the fact that it's the episode I remember best from when I was little.

This was my all time favourite episode when it came to storytapes. I loved Posey´s (Blümchen in german) voice sooo much, she was so kind, lol.

I haven't seen all of the G1 eps - but definately Rescue at Midnight Castle I also love the movie (Baby Lickety <3) + Somnambula (Big Brothers!)

The End of Flutter Valley isn't a movie.  It is a 10 part episode to start off the series proper.

I voted for the movie... it's kind of right at my personal intersection for MLP nostalgia, animation, plot, characters, and fun.

I LOVE the tone, animation, etc. for Midnight Castle, I do kind of wish the whole series was like this, but I didn't see it often when I was little, so it wasn't strongly memorable for me. I used to watch The Glass Princess ALL the time because it was at our video rental place, but I don't like it so much anymore. More recently I really enjoyed Mish Mash Melee and the episode focusing on Wind Whistler being made fun of for being too analytical (can't remember the name of that one), but I don't remember ever seeing either of those when it was on TV. And if it's possible to have an episode "grail", that would be the second half of The Magic Coins, since I never got to see it until I was an adult. That...was a huge letdown

For me my personal fav is Rescue at Midnight Castle though I gotta give honorable mention to the movie, Return of Tambelon and The Gold Horseshoes.

I need it needs to be considered in the context of its time. No 80s cartoon was well animated or exceptionally well plotted - not even Disney series. In the context of 80s cartoons, I think MLP was very good for what it was. But yes, I will agree that when I watch it back now, it makes me cringe quite a lot. I still love it though!

The comics are amazing...but they were also created in order to sell toys after all.

The End of Flutter Valley isn't a movie.  It is a 10 part episode to start off the series proper.

A lot of people consider it a "a mini movie"...I dont think its the end of the world to define it as either to be honest

I love the Big Brothers so this became my favorite.    I really wish they did more with the Brothers.
