Ehhh prices go up, prices go down.  Let's not forget that 20 years ago, the G1 collectors would have screamed in terror at the idea of paying $50 for ANY pony!  And now there are so many that are just considered "normal" at that price.

Ebay prices tend to be all over the place. Its a real pain when you are trying to get something for a pony swap - they have common ponies and the idiot sellers on ebay have her for like $35 or more

But what I really dont get tis the custom plushies. I have seen them as much as $700. I get their are homemade but they are NOT made out of gold. A while bac there were some people that made G1 custom plushies and they are about $50 and had brushable hair

i miss being able to pick up alt birth flower ponies at the swap meets (for 50 cents).

newborn ponies seem to ge going up in price too. Still haven't been able to find Jangles (or is it Tangles?)- green with white hair, humpty dumpty symbol- for under $50

A short while ago I saw a super rare G4 Minty go for over $400.  THAT was a shocker for me.  Then I have seen so many rare Gen 1's going for hundreds of dollars!!  I have put them on my "dream Lotto win" list along with the house I want and the pony room in the house I want

I think in general any g4 that costs over $20
I mean the line is still in production.... They will likely rerelease all of them. 
Or there's a stockpile of them somewhere that will be found or released soon... None of them are actually rare yet...

I was shocked at the prices that some of the Nirvana ponies seem to command-  I've been buying Strawberry Shortcake dolls from Peru, Brazil and Argentina for years-   I thought to find similar prices for ponies from these same countries-  boy was I wrong!

But I think it was when I first saw how much Rapunzel went for that my jaw went and I wished I had ordered her way back when...

In store I saw a fashion style ponies listed as $25. At WalMart. :1 I'm certain it was a mistake, and I can't even remember what pony it was, but holy crap that was disappointing.
I can't remember exactly which pony it was, and I'm starting to think it might've been Applejack... (In which case I'll kick myself for not getting her, LOL).

Agreed. Even hand sewn, that's just insane.

I can understand a custom for between $100-$500, considering the size, work put into it, and cost of materials(Especially if you're using minky) but some of them are priced way too high.
