Hi, I'm new here, and looking forward to reading more posts and seeing more of this site! I collect certain types of dolls, mostly BJDs, including some Monster High.
I came upon this site while looking up information on something to do with MH and found the fabulous thread by one of your wonderful members who took the time to create it. What a great reference, thank you for doing that! I'll post a thank you over there too, if I can find it again!
I didn't mean to start collecting MH dolls. I was in the market to buy dolls for a couple of young girls and someone suggested I take a look at MH. At first I thought they were definitely not the girls', (nor my own) 'type'. I had thought MH would be too scary since at the time, the one girl was quite young! Sure enough, soon after that, I discovered that the youngest girl was asking for one!
After a short time they started growing on me too! I love some of the face-ups being done on these dolls by some very talented face-up artists! I don't have any of the modified ones, but I am now a collector trying to complete my collection of only the first and/or signature model for each character. It's hard to keep up, so that thread mentioned above is super helpful!
I've still got a few that I'm on the hunt for! At first I thought I was only collecting the ones with 'pets', but then I realized that some of the first issues don't come with pets! It's annoying as heck to think that some of these dolls I have actually passed up on the retail shelves, thinking OMG, so ugly! (No offence to anyone!!) Now here I am, paying loads more than I could have bought at least some of them for, at the time!
I see my screen up there says I'm up early! Yes I am! I'm a working girl and I'm in the Eastern Time Zone. I'm looking very much forward to signs of spring, warm weather, and Daylight Savings Time!
And if you haven't noticed, I tend to drone on and on! Thanks for reading!
