Best way to give away free ponies?

So, I have a few G1's here, most in fair to bait condition that are in need of a new home. Because they were a gift to me their previous owner has asked that I don't sell them, but is okay if I either trade them or just give them away. Since they're not exactly rare ponies or worth a whole lot I haven't had much luck trading them, and I don't mind just giving them away for the cost of postage. Problem is, I feel like I want to do this in a way that's fair, so someone doesn't come along and take the lot of them just because they can. I really want to be absolutely sure these ponies will be taken cared of (maybe I'm thinking too much about it) since they were so generously given to me for free and I feel like I have to do right by them.

Any suggestions for how I might go about this?

you can hold a raffle or look for members who love restoring *raises hand* Lol for how big my collection is I am missing a shocking number of common ponies so you never know

Hmm, who are they? I like restoring, but would only want to do so for ponies I don't already have.

You could also add them to swap boxes as "extras", if you do the whole swap thing that is

Like Sandaookami said, a raffle may be a good idea! You could make a post, and open it with something like, "please only enter this raffle if you promise to cherish and give these ponies a good home, not to resell!," and hopefully it will keep any resellers at bay. Most folks here are decent, so they wouldn't enter a raffle just to resell if they won!

Also, you could offer them as good alternate-rehairing bait - lots of folks enjoy rehairing otherwise-hairless ponies with new colors, it makes them more unique and fun to own! (For example, I would be love to have multiples of the same pony if she had different hair!)

I think it might be best to make a list of interested people, then use random.com to rearrange them and then start: Person in the first place chooses a pony, then person in the second etc.
I'm also very interested because i'm very not picky and I'm still missing probably most of common ponies as almost all my childhood ponies are European.

very good idea. i'm  still intrested. i had never heard back from you so i assumed you  had lost intrest.

but i think that random.org sounds good.  get a list of people and then just go down the list.

When I wanted to give away ponies this is what I did:

I posted a picture of the ponies for people to see. Then I stated in the thread that the ponies were specifically for people who needed those ponies. People who already had them shouldn't ask for them. Of course, I had to use the honor system. But then I basically said that the first person in the thread had first dibs. I also asked people to ask more no more than 2 ponies so many people could be included. I asked that international people help out with half the shipping. Then I said that the only payment I wanted was to see them all cleaned up. I managed to get 8 people ponies on their wish list. It was awesome.

This sounds like the best idea! I'm interested too if you decide to do this.

I love restoring, etc, and have just started collecting outfits, so I'm looking for doubles of common ponies to wear them...
