I haven't tried it personally, but I heard that you can make shrunken Barbie heads by leaving them submerged in acetone for a while.
Will make custom plushie for MIB Fashion Style Applejack. PM for details!

I'm not a fan of acetone/nail polish remover. Mostly, because most nail polish remover have a leave in conditioner formula which means a chemical is left behind to condition your nails. That and if not very careful, acetone can end up leaving stains behind.  :(  It stinks to me... a LOT. I personally don't use perfumes or potpourri or any thing like that because I have parrots and smelly chemicals can kill birds easily.

I use Windsor and Newton's Brush restorer/cleaner.  It's great for keeping paint brushes in good and soft condition! For stubborn paint, I soak the doll/pony/plastic/vinyl/resin part in 100% rubbing alcohol and scrub with a soft toothbrush. You can leave it to soak indefinitely because the alcohol won't eat the plastic. It ( W & N brush cleaner ) doesn't have a smell, from what I can sense but it is a bit greasy to the touch so a quick warm soapy cleaning takes care of this problem.

W & N will melt hard plastic though...  safe on soft vinyl but be ware of using it on hard plastic items like those plastic baby shower dolls you find in the cake and party sections in retail shops.

You can get acetone from places like Lowes or home depot or any kind of place that carries paint supplies or automotive stuff.

I haven't had any luck getting ink off however.

I've also use another product called Lacquer thinner, it's like acetone only...stronger I guess you could say. And it is way stronger in terms of smell and it works a little faster...actually I think some lacquer thinner may be banned in california now that I think about it :p

I once put a bait sosoft pony in it and let it soak overnight and the ponies body became soft like jelly...yea...Opps. It did firm up again but it was kinda funny to have jelly pony.

Home Depot sells pure acetone. Most pharmacies/medical supply stores would have forceps. You can even try the first aid section of your drug store.
