I think G3 was the worst for this. Their heads were always odd shapes and squished/oversized looking, their eyes would change position, their smiles looked kinda like they found a box of strange pills and ate them all
I LOVE G1 backcard art and I LOVE "Rescue at Midnight Castle" and I like "Escape from Catrina" . . . but I didn't like the animation in "MLP & Friends" at all. The ponies looked like hippos or something and the animation was really, really sloppy. I mean, even for the 80s it was sloppy. I think Sunbow put all the animators who could draw humans on "Jem" and all the animators who could draw angles on "Transformers" and "MLP & Friends" got whoever was left.YES, your description of the G3 art made me think of that same cat picture!! Back when G3 had just started I heard a fellow collector remark that they were all drawn "like pink pit bulls", and that description has stayed with me ever since.G4 art often looks very wooden and sort of cheap to me when it's still, but it looks great animated. The real question is . . . what do you think of G2 art?visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThe "eye sparkles" always make them look rather evil to me. Like they're about to use heat vision to fry their surroundings.
lol LadyMoondancer!! I think you need to put up more funny stuff like that on your Heck Yeah tumblr!
