Hello from a U.K pony fan

Hello fellow pony fans  :biggrin:

Growing up in Edinburgh, Scotland, my childhood pony collection started in May 1984 with Bow Tie. The last pony to join the herd was the beautiful Locket, a present from Gran on my 13th birthday in June 1988. I had 42 ponies in total and all with happy memories attached, so much so I've not been able to part with them.  Bow Tie is my favourite as she was my first, plus blue is my favourite colour  :lol:  Applejack is also very special as she was the last present given to me by my lovely Grandad before he passed away.

I have always associated my pony collection with a happy time in my life, so when I was going through a difficult period in late 2001, I discovered the joy of eBay and the chance to start collecting all the ponies I wanted as a child!  All too often, sets would be discontinued by the time I had saved up enough pocket money or they could be bought by family as Christmas and birthday presents.  Between 2001 and today, I have bought another 56 ponies and the collection is growing all the time.  I have managed to find many early ponies not available in the U.K. and discovered many G1 sets produced after 1987 that are now on my wish list.

I look forward to exploring MLP Arena very much and learning how to keep my collection in great condition.  :)

Im also a UK pony collector and restore many of the G1s that I find :)
Bowtie and Applejack were also my very first ponies my mum bought me from a charity shop in the early 1990s. And I still have them both now :)

I'm really thrilled with the welcome I've got here and it's great to know there's a few of us here in the U.K. too  :yippee: 

I'll try and get some photos done this weekend, plus scan a couple of oldies from my childhood of the original collection.  :)  You'll have to excuse the 80s haircut and jumpers  :lol:
