Do you consider them to be part of MLP? Or their own separate line?

They are part of the line to me. If it has the mlp rainbow logo on it, it's ponies!

Technically, yes.  But I didn't really consider them true MLP's when I was younger.  I could tell that the company had just run out of ideas and was throwing stuff together to keep the line going with minimal effort to squeeze a little more money out of them.  By year 9, MLP had "jumped the shark."
Nirvana grails:  Reverse Gusty (upgrade), Peru Windy and Moonstone (upgrade), Brazil TAF upgrades, Argie Powder w/ white hair (upgrade), French Windy and Moondancer (upgrades), Spain TAF's, TE's, and piggies.  These are my biggest wants, but I'm looking for tons more nirvanas, especially Greeks, Brazilians, and Peruvians.  Feel free to PM me for sales or trades.  But please note that I'm also fairly picky.

I guess I think of them as a spin off? Kind of like in the '80s and early '90s when they made all of those alternate-universe cartoons where all the characters were little kids. Yeah. Dream Beauties are more or less spin off babies.

I don't really have any interest in collecting em, most of them are too pricey and I'm not a huge fan of them  :( I agree that they were just trying to milk MLP at that point for everything it was worth.

I remember when they came out and thought they were cool. I never saw them as Non-official ponies, I don't know exactly why people would think that they are not official ponies? Is it because they're different? - I saw them as official ponies and part of the herd. It's not really any different than Flutter Ponies or sea ponies who have a different body style from the normal ponies but no less official ponies in the MLP family.

It also doesn't seem like they were milking MLP for all it was worth...it just seemed like another set in the vast collection of many different ponies. I guess for those who were not into MLP then or were not around to participate it may seem that way but for me they seemed cool and elegant looking.

Probably doesn't own a stolen piece of the Taj Mahal.

I definitely consider them part of the line! I've been collecting online  since 1996 and still haven't seen pics of them all! Anyone have a complete set?

I don't recall ever seeing them in stores but when I first started collecting in the 90's I knew immediately that the first one I found was a pony.  It's the eyes.  :)

I consider them to be of the same line, but 'grown up' ponies lol. Proper horses. They still look like mlp to me because the eyes are the same.  :)

I am twisted on this one :P And perhaps it depends how you term them. Officially, I completely acknowledge that they are part of the MLP line and not their own separate brand. Similar to Lil Litters, Hasbro considered them sets within the MLP line. However, for me I honestly dont consider them part of "my" MLP line - they are too outside the loop for me - so personally nope I dont think of them as MLP but as their own unique Dream Beauties line.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
