I wonder how it works with the license for plush products being with Funrise and then Build a Bear having a license as well. Perhaps thats why BaB often end up with Bears which represent rather than actual plush of the product?

BaB are more for collectors? Gosh thats interesting to know...I guess they trade differently in different countries They are very much a specialist toy shop over here. It could simply be that Funrise dont have an exclusive license for plush. Which could be good news all round as it doesnt stop others then bidding or buying for further licenses for the line.

I bet they'll be actual pony-shaped plushies.  They have a ton of non-bear plushies, like the Alvin, Brittany, Kermit, Miss Piggy, etc...  I'd be willing to bet they'll be pony plushies, and not pony bears

I took the build a bear survey when it was up, and I know it at least mentioned twilight sparkle and pinkie pie by name, so I would think they'd definitely do the ponies.  I hope so, because I need a pinkie pie plush on roller skates.

I can say I didn't know BaB was more for collectors... at least not by the commercials I see I know it's a specialty plush/toy shop where kids can get unique plushes/stuffed animals

The quality is better than many plushes that can be found in retail stores like Walmart and Target. We'll probably get better looking ponies. I mean, if they're going to be pricey, the quality better be good. I know Funrise has said they aren't aiming for collectors. They're aiming for kids to play with them because I know many MANY bronies keep whining about how they're not show accurate and they out right said that to them.

How wrong is it that I want to put Twinkle Toes sneakers on Rarity?  The nearest BAB is 4 hrs from here, so I might as well dream big.

I hope they're actual ponies, although pony-based bears would be pretty cute too.  (Like a purple bear in Twilight's colors--ohhh, maybe with their symbol on their belly, like a Care Bear?)

Build a Bear is the big surprise? I hope not. I would be so disappointed if that is it. I also don't know how they fit in with the letter C. So I'm so hoping for something new in brushable form.

You know, apart of me say yes what they said it true, and another part of me says no, this is not true. I mean if you plan pon coming out with a DJ-pon3 plush, I kinda think that's more tailored to the adult collectors. lol

Yes, BAB is more of a 'collectors item' You should have seen what the 2nd edition Rudolph plush were going for on ebay. 100-200+ dollars when they came out.

I think the BAB plushes will be ponies. I remember taking part in their survey, and one of the questions was which character from the show we/our children would prefer. Rarity was one of my picks, and then it went on to show me a picture of a generic unicorn plush and asked again which one would be preferable. I think they wanted to see if any old unicorn would suffice at the end of the day without them trying to obtain Hasbro's characters, but I also took it to mean they had quadrupedal horses in mind, and not bears in any case.
