Wow.  That's practically magical!  Heck with it, that *is* magical. ^.^

I'm so happy for you (I have fond memories of fairground coin-op rides too), and what a beautiful story, I can't wait to see how the restorations go.  For sure please keep us posted!

Wishlist - I'm back on (semi-) active buying again... can't buy everything on my wish list all at once (yay, back-to-school and tuition fees), but I am still looking to plump up my collection a bit more: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,380638.0.html

I'm all teary eyed after reading this story. So happy you got them after all these years! They (yes, I'm talking about the horses) must be so happy to be with someone who loves and cares about them so much after all those years in the shed. I hope you can restore them eventually. Huge congrats!

I felt the same way about your story - and what an amazing story it is! What a beautiful sentiment to save those horses after all these years. Also, I have to say, but this story could easily be a children's tale :) mostly because it sounds like one, but imagine reading this to a little child and then telling them that, yes, this is all true :lovey:

Write a book and raise some money for their restoration!  That's a fantastic idea!

We all love these coinride horses and ponies and other toys so much, though I know it's hard for some people to understand our attachment to inanimate objects.  But I think love is precious in any form, even if it's directed at a nonliving thing.

I also think it's sad when that love dies, as it does for most people who grow out of their attachments to their childhood toys.  Just think of Jessie's song in Toy Story 2; that moves lots of people to tears, even the ones who might otherwise scoff at us toy collectors.  They might not understand or approve of our toy love, but really, how can love in any form ever be wrong?  It keeps us in touch with our childhoods and our histories, marks the passage of time and the return to it through memory, and it's a beautiful thing.

Nirvana grails:  Reverse Gusty (upgrade), Peru Windy and Moonstone (upgrade), Brazil TAF upgrades, Argie Powder w/ white hair (upgrade), French Windy and Moondancer (upgrades), Spain TAF's, TE's, and piggies.  These are my biggest wants, but I'm looking for tons more nirvanas, especially Greeks, Brazilians, and Peruvians.  Feel free to PM me for sales or trades.  But please note that I'm also fairly picky.

Awww~ :D This put a huge smile on my face.

It made me think of the black and white coin-op horse outside of our old Wal-Mart that I used to love as a child.  I wonder what happened to him after the Wal-Mart moved...

What a spectacular story! Congratulations on being reunited with Silver and Carousel at last. I can't wait to see what they look like all restored. :)
