If it was still in good quality, then I would probably still collect them.  :)

:) When I first saw G2s, I also thought they were fakies. My dad told me they were real MLPs. :'3 Such a vivid memory !

Anywho, I'll collect whatever I feel think is cute. Eh, 95% of fakies are not my cup of tea ... Then again, I wouldn't be collecting G1s if it wasn't for the nostalgic factor. D': eek.

Lol I don't care what I collect as long as they're a pony and I'm fine and good to go!

I probably would because they would be very good quality fakies with much variety. I have been tempted many times to invest in certain fakies that I thought were very pretty. I even have a few fakies in my collection, so I'm pretty open to them.

I would only collect MLP brand, I'm not a fakie fan :P Even though I never liked G2s, when they came out I wanted one just because they were MLP brand XD

I'm an all around toy collector and my rule of the thumb is as long as I find it pretty, cool, amusing, or it makes me smile than it's worth collecting whether it's a huge brand like My Little Pony or some obscure line that was only around for two years in eighties that next to no one remembers. I bring home fakies that appeal to me, and if those fakies had a full out "line", heck yeah I'd collect them! :)

This pretty much applies to me too. I don't even care if the toy is older than me since I'd love to find a Kenner Blythe for cheap as long as the aesthetic appeals to me.

I thought they were fakies for a long time :P
But one day someone sent me Ivy as a gift in a trade and the G2 won me over.

Please people, never send me a real fakie, you may turn me into a pony monster who collects every pony with no discretion >.<

I refused to have anything to do with fakies as a child! I recognized the difference immediately! So, that would be a 'no' for me.

I'm probably abit shallow but I have to say no, I would not collect them if they were fakies.

Actually, when the G4's came out I had been inactive in the pony community for a while and had no idea that Hasbro was releasing a new line of ponies. So when I walked past them in a store I just stopped and stared at them, convinced that they had to be fakies since they looked so different from the previous generations. So I passed up on them even though it clearly said "My Little Pony" on the box :P After some research on the internet and getting back into the pony collecting community again - realizing they are indeed a legit MLP line - I now have most of the G4's released XD

I'm very anti-fakies and don't care for them at all. I collect My Little Pony and anything non-MLP is of no interest to me. I suppose I'm more a collector of the brand than the looks of the ponies themselves. Allthough I do love every single MLP ever released no matter what they look like :)

if they were cute, of course! for me that's what comes first, and that's the reason why I collect, not the brand. unfortunately there are only a few fakies who I consider cute though, most of the times their colours are a little blah and/or there's overall not much variety in them, or there's something else that kills it . for instance, several of them have eyeshadow which freaks me out - this is the reason why I don't like Crumpet pose fakies, where I like that pose in general. but if I find a cute fakie I will go and buy them even now, so I'm sure I would buy any original MLP I like now if they were fakies.
as for quality: I wouldn't be happy if they were worse quality, but I think if I found them cute I would still buy them. in the end it's only about whether I like the appearance or not.

Nope, nostalgia is one of the main reasons I collect and I can't stand fakies.  They usually are poor quality anyway.  To me unless they are MLP, they aren't worth it.

Probably not for me as I tend to collect the most popular toy and doll lines that have a value to them.  I am not so much into every toy made...just the really popular ones.
