Deflocking Paradise!
« on: November 12, 2012, 03:43:33 PM »
So I had a relatively decent Paradise, except she needed a tail.  Not much flocking loss, reasonably thick, only a few dingy patches of glue.   I put her in some Simple Green to remove the dingy color as I have found it works on all sorts of things.  Apparently not So-Softs, as she went a slightly green color.  D'OH!

So after about a month of hot water soaks and acetone wipes, and a box of Q-tips later, here she is bare-skinned:

With only a few rough spots of glue around her eyes and symbols, I think I did a pretty good job!

And after all that, she still needs a tail...  Poor thing!

So, did the Simply Green also help remove the flocking?

Lovely job, lbs!  She looks great. ^.^  And good to know about the Simple Green...

If you want to get right rid of the flocking round her eyes and symbols, super-hot water and the edge of a popsicle stick to scrub away the glue did the trick for some of my girls.  (I had previously used Goof-Off, but I guess I had just been darned lucky, as it brought the symbol off one of my baitier So-Softs >_<, so I have relegated it to use for just on the body where no paint harm can be done.)  But that's just if you want to be pernickety; I think she looks dandy, and you don't see the stray flock/glue unless you go in really close anyway. ^.^

Again, fantastic job, and I can't wait to see her when she's re-tailed too! :)

Wishlist - I'm back on (semi-) active buying again... can't buy everything on my wish list all at once (yay, back-to-school and tuition fees), but I am still looking to plump up my collection a bit more: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,380638.0.html

Does her hair match Sugar berry?  I think I still have a tail in decent condition lying around, and if not, I have a spare that I was wanting to rehair that I can send you the tail from.

No... Sugarberry's hair is the same as Gusty's red streak (can't remember the name of the color ATM...), and Paradise's hair is more "orange"...

I think I have an extra Paradise tail tho... if you'd like it. :D I have one that I'm customizing (some day) into Gusty as a G1 Pegasus... so I don't need her tail. Just drop me a PM if you'd like it! :D
