I want the mane six this way... unless of course they put the glitter in the plastic, which would be a MILLION times better imho... like a 'real' mlp, must say I'm disappointed with the surface glitter on the blind bags, just seems cheap and nasty to me, reminds me of those g3.5 fakies. I really want cadence and shining armour this way too... that would be a-maaaazing!

All 6 were prototyped this way and I want to say it was almost a year ago that I saw them. It would be the first time I've seen a g4 line released so much later after its reveal. I have a feeling the tinsel ponies we are seeing packaged now are the sparkly ponies replacement (but I hope I'm wrong)

Yep Joey here is correct. Any pictures floating around are from a long time ago, and are of prototypes/test-runs/mock-ups of the ponies, and they were manufactured before the change to no-bangs, which was quite a while ago now.

A few ponies made it out of China to new owners, including:
at least 5 Fluttershies
at least 1 Pinkie Pie
1 Rarity

Rainbow Dash and Applejack were seen in pictures, so they must exist somewhere. No Twilight, though.

Maybe Hasbro will make them sometime in the future, but I think they are probably doing the Tinsel-hair ones instead for now.

If they don't have those hexagon eyeshines, then I don't think they will be part of the Crystal Empire line. Even FS Pinkie Pie with her umbrella hat has the eyeshines. It's a shame too because the translucent plastic with glitter inside it looks pretty.

I'm really hoping that the current Crystal Empire line will have more toys that directly tie into the season 3 opener, especially so now that the episodes have come out.  I mean, a whole city filled with translucent, glittery ponies with gorgeous designs, and a new way to sell the main 6 that is different enough to warrant a re-release... c'mon, Hasbro! I completely agree that this would be the perfect time for the glittery main 6 prototypes we've been seeing on taobao to have an actual release.

The G1's that have this style are lovely- I've always loved them, I like to think I invented them. I had a pony poster when I was little and I used glitter nail polish to color one of the ponies on the picture. Shortly after that, Hasbro released the see-through glittery ones. I'm still certain they were following me!

This is a merchandise driven show.  Why else would they have it happen?
I really adore glittery translucent ponies in general BUT that pinkie pie glitter translucent doesn't actually look like good news.  They need to have the glitter IN the plastic and not as a coat on top of the regular plastic. 
One hope it won't smell as bad the the g-3 sparkle ponies.

Anyway Yes, the release of these translucent ponies is exactly what I wanted when i saw the ep. Only because we saw leaked pictures of them months ago, and well, I really want Applejack.

But glitter on the inside you are stuck with (and in my opinion, does not grab the light of the sun well), glitter on the outside can be removed if it's not liked... AND, well, I have a good idea for these guys.

I really hope these get released sometime... I just can't stand it that the things the collectors most seem to want (though I'm sure children would like them and maybe some Bronies as well) get made but never released.
