Finally saying hello

Hi, I signed up about a month ago and am just now getting around to making my first post (oops)! I had been waiting for an activation email but then found out I just had to come back here and make an introduction post. But then I couldn't figure out what to write because I'm rather shy so I hemmed and hawed about what to say. Then I figured I better just come out and write something already! I'll just use the guidelines from the "New to the Arena?" post

How old are you? Old! (38)

Where do you live? State, Country? Knoxville, TN, USA

Do you work or attend school? Profession or major? Trying to get a paying job, for now I just volunteer at the public library. Hope to return to college someday and get a degree.

Who are the important people in your life? My husband and our pets!

Ponies:

How long have you been collecting? Haven't started yet!

Which generations of ponies do you collect? G1, G2, G3 or G4? I plan to collect G1 (that's what was around when I was a kid) and G4 mostly.

What made you want to collect ponies? I always wanted one when I was a child but my parents didn't let me (I don't know why, maybe they thought I was asking for a real pony? ) My husband and I are currently watching the "Friendship is Magic" show (just started Season 2) and we both love it

Tell us about your collection! Nonexistent at the moment but hope to change that soon!
 
I look forward to being a part of this forum! I'm mostly a lurker due to shyness and the fact that I can usually find the answers to my questions by searching, but I will try to post once in a while

Lol, I am the same age as you and grew up with G1 ponies!  It's great your husband watches the new show with you.  Don't be shy about posting, everyone is really friendly here

Hi, 38 is not old.      I think there are quite a few of us "oldies" in here.  I'm pretty shy too, but it is easy to talk to people in here because everyone has been so nice.  It really is a different community in here.  I hope you enjoy it!
