Olympic Games Thread

I don't see a thread devoted to this, and with the opening ceremonies tonight, I thought we needed a thread just for these topics!

First up: I want to know, are any of the announcers going to mess up and not say "Olympic Games" but accidentally say "Hunger Games," because I have totally messed it up in my head already!

XDD That would be soooo awkward and yet amazing if it happened.

What events are you all looking forward to?

My favorites usually are:

gymnastics and beach volleyball,

but I cannot wait to see the rest!

I'm also a little sad, I really like this hurdler from Australia named Michelle Jenneke, but apparently she didn't make the Olympic team. Hurdles are always fun to watch, because I don't have enough coordination to run and time a jump like that.

Hurdles scared me in High School but they were a BLAST to do!!

I LOVE <3 the high jump! That's some crazy-ness!

I'm watching the parade of nations right now. I'm really most interested in the equestrian events, so I have grand ambitions of getting up at 5am tomorrow morning (gosh, and the next morning, and the next, and I think the day after that I don't have to get up til 7 . . .) to watch them online. We'll see how well that goes I wish they got more tv coverage, but there's a lot going on . . . so I guess it makes sense. I'm also looking forward to seeing some of the gymnastic events.

so i dont watch  the olmpics.. but i was goofing around on yahoo... and i found this video that the olmypic swim team did. its called  call me maybe.  its very well done.   

sicne it was..olypmic  related i wonder if anyone  else has seen it.

I'm watching the equestrian - loving it!  Jonelle Richards has done a beaut dressage test for NZ   and the Aussies have set the standard in the dressage thus far.

I can't watch online supposedly because I dont have cable. Stupid NBC! So I am watching via BBC streamed to my tv.

I'm not going to be watching it this year, probably will only be watching the highlights. The Summer Olympics 4 years ago had some pretty amazing moments but I get way too into it sometimes (rooting for my country and all) so I'm gonna refrain this time. xD

It's so hard to watch all of it! I did catch some doubles tennis in the late morning and then swimming and some volleyball though.  Gooooo Olympics!

Gymnastics and swimming tonight. I hate that they wait until primetime to show these.... I've already seen the tweets from the athletes about who won what... At least in Rio it will be closer to my time zone

Ah I was at a horse show yesterday all day so I would have thought I would have had enough of it but nope watching the dressage now Show jumping is more my thing though Go team GB!!
