Hi!
I have not been to this site in awhile. Why? Because I have not bought a single pony in five years.
I did however, manage to accomplish the following time and money consuming things:
Bought and renovated a repo home.
Moved out of my rental into said home.
Job promotion.
Helped husband set up a new business.
Survived a car accident that left me in a wheelchair for the good part of a year, plus all the attendant medical bills, legal bills/court costs. (I'm still without a car, making me temporarily homebound).
Preparing to invest in more real estate, now that the market is down.
Because of all this, I put all my collecting on hold. I didn't part with my collection though, they are all still boxed up in storage (g1s, g2s, g3s...hundreds of ponies).
How old are you? Somewhere in my 30s
Where do you live? Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Do you work or attend school? Profession or major? Work as a librarian.
Who are the important people in your life? Husband, family, friends.
Ponies: SO MANY, all plastic.
How long have you been collecting? 30 years.
Which generations of ponies do you collect? G1, G2, G3 or G4? Currently have G1, G2, G3s, with some G2s and G3s still MOC. I don't physically own any G4s yet (they are in the mail, LOL).
What made you want to collect ponies? I liked to play with them as a child, and they are cheaper and cleaner than the real thing. As an adult I find styling their hair relaxing.
Tell us about your collection!
Most of my G1s are my childhood ponies.
G2s I bought as an adult at clearance sales, some of them are still MOC.
G3s I bought as an adult, some MOC. The bulk of my collection are G3s, including playsets, holiday ponies, a few Comicon ponies, some giant pillow plushies, stationary, and other miscellenious items. I stopped G3 collecting when Hasbro started pushing those ugly (to me) Ponyville minis.
G4s--I don't actually have any of these yet. I did order the new castle set with Shining Armor and Cadence, and plan on getting more. And this generation of ponies actually has mini-figs that I like, so I'll probably start collecting those as well. And the new TV series is excellent...now I can watch the new MLP episodes with other people and not feel embarassed about it (I'll admit it...some of the past MLP cartoons were bad. Especially those G3 ones that seemed mainly to be based around ponies partying and doing fluffy stuff). Since I'm carless at the moment, most of my shopping is going to be internet based.
I have a room in my house that is supposed to be my pony room, but is filled with boxes of unpacked ponies. Hopefully I can get around to that soon!
