Steiff, anyone?

I was wondering if there are any other Steiff collectors out there in Ponyland! I only have two at the moment, the Big Foot Blonde teddy and Trotty the Tortoise, because they're kinda pricey for me. I get them when I go to EPCOT down in Disney World, because they sell them in the German pavillion. I love these little guys, and I'd love to have more some day. Anyone else?

I have 2 Steiff bears as well, and someday hope to own more once I have the space   I have the replica Alfonso from 1993, and a smaller bear named George I picked up last year.

Kaoskat:  Steiff is one of the oldest teddy manufacturers   They are still making traditional bears out of their factory in Germany.

I love Steiff! I currently have Xorry the fox, and Lamby the lamb.

I'd loove to own the set of realistic miniature bears that came out a few yrs back. There was a polar bear, a moon bear, a koala and a panda, I believe.

Mosspath, have you looked for them online? They are usually a bit cheaper that way!

I haven't looked online much, actually. Steiffs are one of those things that I don't really go looking for, but I pick up if I see. Thanks for the tip, though!

ohh i love them i have quite a bit of a collection of vintage ones here is the first group i got some other vintage ones including a lynx named luxy who is vintage.

I saw some beautiful Steiff bears on my honeymoon (in the Germany section of Epcott) and I was so tempted.  But they were expensive.  I think my grandma had some from the 50's (when she started having kids), but they might be long gone now.

I collect Steiff!  I had one I got from my mom for my 9th birthday, and she's managed to survive several moves to make it out here.  Then a few years ago they were selling a really cute bunny at the oddest place(Williams Sonoma has Exclusive Steiffs now apparently).   My husband saw it and got it for me.  The collection has sort of grown since then.  I bought a couple when I went to Harrods in London last year.  The rest have been online purchases.  I have about 23 of them right now:p  I had a very Steiff-y Christmas this year, and I love bunnies, so my collection tends to jump around Easter as well.  I generally only collect the new ones, and of those only the small ones.  Usually the little 4"-8" mohair ones, but I do have a few of the regular plushes.   I don't collect anything bigger than 8", and the smaller, the better with me.  I don't have room for anything bigger with my other collections.  And anyway, I love small things:)  I don't have any of the teddy bears(too expensive!).  I don't collect those, but I think they're pretty cute too!

Gorgeous pics everyone.  My mother collects teddy bears and has about 6 steiffs.  Bazil, Blueberry, Frazer...  Those are the only 3 names I can rememer off the top of my head (and they may be names she has given them herself, lol).  I want Frazer for my own one day.  He is a pretty ginger with a lighter coloured muzzle

I think the bears are creepy but I have a duck from my childhood very similar to a steiff but I can't ID it and the tags are cut off. I'm more of a vintage Dakin person. I wouldn't be interested in newer Steiffs though. Vintage stuffed animals are the best.
