Why doesn't G4 toy Applejack have freckles? Anyone know? It doesn't bother me, but I'm just curious. Perhaps little girls don't like dolls with freckles? I know when I was little I never wanted a Midge doll because of the freckles and I have freckles! XD Seems like I would want a doll that looked like me, but I guess not :P

I always wondered that about G1...why do some ponies get freckles and some not?

Personally I adore freckles on ponies...especially on the Mountain Boys so handsomely squidably cute! :)

Its probably the same reason as one sided symbols...it costs less not to add them!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Is it true that Applejack is the only toy with eyebrows?  Seems strange that they can add those but not freckles.

It's more of an "eye crease"...
but yeah, cheaper to not add freckles :( shame, because G1's with freckles are sooooo cute.  It's very endearing <3

If you have a toothpick and some white nail polish, the freckles are easy to add on. Still sucks that they're not on there officially, but it's a decent enough middle ground.

Strangely enough, the McDonald's G4 Applejack toys have freckles! ;)

As others have mentioned, Applejack toys tend to have "eye creases" screened on. Because her eyes are partially closed, the crease shape falls within the given eye area for the character's head, meaning that they can use the same manufacturing process and equipment for her as they would any other pony.

... That's my theory, anyway! :)

I'm not sure if they are eyebrows or what, but all the other ponies with her the same eyeshape don't have them either!

On a similar note, why does Blossomforth have eyeshadow? :P

I wish HB would make more eyeshadow-ed ponies and put freckles on AJ!

The eyebrows kinda weird me out. Considering the fact that it probably takes the same amount of paint to do the eyebrows and the freckles, I don't see why they chose eyebrows. And don't even get me started on the lack of hat...

It's not "paint," per se. It's more like an iron on transfer if I'm not mistaken! I really do think it's just a matter of whether or not the manufacturing machinery lines up or not. :)

Egyptiondragon, your modified AJs look GREAT!

Really? That's pretty interesting, actually! But if that's the case, I wonder why more ponies don't have eyebrows. We know that Hasbro enjoys reusing things as often as possible.

Loving the be-freckled AJs! They look perfect!
