Thank goodness someone pointed me in this direction when I mentioned I was looking for more ponies!

I'm lousy at biographical anything, but here goes: I'm an illustrator & sculptor (I make monsters. No, really.) who has a few ponies kicking around from childhood, and just... well, likes 'em! I'm hoping to replace some of the favorites I had as a kid that were given away (or lost - there was an incident with a bridge, a river, and homemade parachutes), as well as try my hand at customizing a couple ponies. I'm an all 'round sort of geek, and my first custom (if I can lay my hands on a G3 Moondancer) is probably going to reflect that... by being made into one of my WoW toons. *cough* I'd love to do a little bit of pony illustration as well, but who knows if I'll actually have time to do that: right now my free time is divided between work & my non-plastic pony.

Anyway, can't wait to collect more!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm pretty excited to be getting back into ponies: unfortunately I vastly overestimated the condition of my original collection. I dug them out, and poor Gusty looks like she survived a war. :S
Its entirely possible Eviecorn! I've used this name online for...oi, YEARS now.

What a beautiful real pony you have!  The colours make me think of Chincoteag (sp?) ponies.  I devoured Margerite Henry's books when I was little.    Please post more pix!

I hear you on overestimating the contition of your collection.  Fortunatly, there are all sorts of people very good with restoring tips & tricks.  Here's hoping you're able to replace those parachuted ponies of long ago... (that must be a story there!)

Cheers! Right now he's merely learning the basics; he was as far as we know unhandled until the age of four, when he had 30 days of training, then was kicked back out to pasture for six months. Right now we're working on all sorts of things from bending to simple lateral movements to rebalancing his giant thunder-run of a canter.
I'd sorta hoped he'd be my trail horse/jouster, but he's a spooky bugger so that's not likely!

Thank ye Sugar! He's a very odd colour, that's for sure. We only call him 'the pony' in jest though: he's actually enormous.
I've been browsing a lot of threads & articles on restoration (bless the people who write them!) so there MAY be hope for some of my poor ponies! I'm letting my Gusty sunbleach a bit as we speak in the hopes of getting some of the 'grey' to go away... but we shall see.
