Hi,

I posted an intro some time ago in the old forum, but because I lurk I thought I would reintroduce myself.  I manely (see what I did there?), come into the forum when I am looking for something specific or want to read about something specific.  So I haven't ever gotten to know anyone.

Ponies:  I have a bunch of G1 ponies.  I really like them best.  Growing up with them they just seemed like the natural state of ponyness.  I really disliked the sister ponies and the other tall and skinny versions (G2?) and I was happy when they started to look more like ponies again with the G3s instead of like colts and fillies.  The sister ponies and G2 were not ponies in my opinion.  They were young horses.  Totally different! 

I have been collecting off and on since 1982.  Butterscotch was my first.  I only collect G1 ponies with maybe a few exceptions where I fall in love with a pony.

I really want Mimic and Rapunzel one day.  I am sad that they are so hard to find and so costly.  It is not a goal to have them just to say they are mine, but rather I always loved their design.  Mimic is just the prettiest colors and I wanted her as a kid but never saw her in the stores.  Rapunzel and I have a relationship with each other.  Lol, well that sounds weird!  What I mean is that I have very very long ankle length hair and people call me Rapunzel all the time.  I have even played her on stage before.  So I have always wanted Rapunzel.  I have tons of Rapunzel dolls and drawings, but no Rapunzel pony yet. 

I also collect Enchanted Kingdom Horses.

Welcome to the Arena! G1s are my favorite as well ;) And I too am searching for Mimic and Rapunzel. I fell in love with Mimic when I saw a drawing of her a long time ago, but was devastated when I found out how much she actually costs!! And after seeing Tangled I have a love for all things Rapunzel, hehe. So we're in the same boat I guess, hopefully we'll both get our dream ponies one day! :D Have fun around the forums, everyone is really nice here ^.^

I Loved Tangled!  Although it did some good and bad things for my Rapunzel collection.  The good:  Now there is more I could buy if I wanted to.  The bad:  Now it is harder to wade through all things Disney to find non-Disney Rapunzel stuff.  I particularly love when Rapunzel is shown with brown or black hair.  Some of the earliest stories of her involved a raven haired girl and not a blondie.  It was the Grimms that made her blonde in their telling but before that she was Persian girl with long black hair.  So anyway, I like to find art and dolls of Rapunzel where her hair is other colors besides blonde. 

I do like that more kids now know who Rapunzel is too.  Even with my hair being brown little kids think I might be her.  Before it was just adults calling me Rapunzel or Lady Godiva.  I prefer Rapunzel!

Hi, Marigold, and welcome to the Arena!

I think it's cool that you have ankle-length hair... no wonder Rapunzel is one of your "grail" ponies.  ^.^  (That was one of the best non-Pixar Disney films in a while, imho... I love the part where they break out into song in the tavern.  :biggrin:)  I wish you mucho pony luck with finding both her and Mimic, and hope you have fun collecting along the way!
