Well I'm going to do my check in before I offer up some responses!
My week was Ok. Not great, not good, but definitely OK. I walked with my dog for about 60 minutes 4 days last week and ate decent. My husband was one several different duties (he's active duty Army) - so he wasn't home. I spent a lot of time grazing through my kitchen. I'm also a bit under the weather, between the allergies (I'm allergic to
everything in Texas pretty much) and what I think is a sinus infection, I haven't been eating or drinking as much as I should be. I'd say most of my days were 1 point or 1.5 point days at best.
I did better yesterday (I still need to work up my exact points/calories) but I ate fairly regularly and I cleaned the house as my exercise! Since my husband wasn't home, I was able to get it all accomplished in good time. I love him to death, but when he tries to "help" I always have to go back and re-clean it. I always thank him though, the effort is appreciated at the very least. Now, I just tell him to go do something for 3-4 hours while I clean the house. It's easier on us both! Overall I'd give myself a 1.5 for my day - 1 for exercise and .5 for food, since I stayed on track but didn't really plan ahead.
Doing
much better today! I was up way late (5am!) then up at about 10 this morning. My doggy got his BarkBox in the mail, so he's been happily playing with his new toys and treats. Also spent some time getting my living room organized with everyone's boxes! Staying on track with my summer classes as well, I managed to get 100 out of 100 on the first exam! I'll admit, I'm most likely going to check in weekly since that's what I do on my tumblr. I also got my package from Amazon today with my new scale! Yay! It will be super nice to have one that works. Tomorrow I get my Dot Dead Gorgeous, Dead Tired, and Roller Maze dolls from Amazon, I'm wiggling in anticipation! So far this week is shaping up to be a really good one! Check in tomorrow with my counselor and Dr.'s appointment on Friday too =) Currently reading a wonderful book titled "Eat What You Love, Love What you Eat" by Dr. Michelle May. It's got some wonderful advice in it - definitely NOT a 'diet' book, lots of science too.
Also hoping that I get some of the eBay stuff I purchased for your boxes this week too! All of them have been shipped but only one has tracking! Super excited!

Page 25@rayechu ~ that sounds amazing. Thank you for sharing! I've written that down so I can use it later.
Page 26@renee_chan ~ That's an awesome idea. I have terrible upper body strength and I'm sure that using weights would help. I think I'll focus on that some too this week! Also, jumping on a trampoline is FUN. I did that again over Christmas when I was visiting my cousin. I forgot how fun it was (and how breakable I am!). If it's new for you, it definitely counts =)
@lemontwist ~ Yay! I'm glad that you had a great day! My favorite fish by far is "real" tuna, I can't eat canned tuna. I've been abstaining recently though since I'm not okay with the fishing practices.
@kiwimlp ~ Try something new with chocolate? Then you can have the best of both worlds.
Yay for a great day though!
@Tribble79 ~ First, your name makes me smile. I love the Tribble episode. Second,
Yay, for a great day!
@fiwen30 ~
You will! I know it! Yeah, I know what you mean about having issues with textures, it put me off a lot of foods too. I'll see what I can did up, another friend of mine is allergic to gluten so I'll see if she's got some recipes to share too.
@sabathamk ~
I'm sorry =( I thought leaving it open a week would be long enough.
@banditpony ~ I feel you, I have really bad social anxiety. Your bike sounds awesome though, hopefully you can get it fixed soon. =) New foods are always good. You could also try for a new mental exercise too, like visualization or reading a new author.
@Princess-Sparkles ~
I'm sorry, I hate it when unexpected expenses pop up. It's always frustrating.
@Jazz ~ That is awesome! Exactly what I'm talking about too!
@Salli ~ Absolutely! I got interested in it from a book series I read. I didn't even think about Avatar till you mentioned it, though I DO enjoy that show. I've always been a very organized person, it definitely helps me with my job!
@Pinkamena ~ What about reading a new author? Or drawing something you've never drawn before? The challenges don't always have to be food/exercise. They can be related to mental stuff too. This week is just for anything new at all. I can't help you with the banana thing, I'm massively allergic to them. I use tofu in my smoothies instead of banana - it gives it the same consistency with none of the medical emergency!
page 27@Yuitsu ~ Gosh! I empathize so much. Comfort foods I think, things that mentally make us 'feel' better. Honestly though, it sounds like to me that you did just fine =) Everything in moderation and just don't do it every day. I always just eat a little, especially if the craving is really strong. I'd rather have a little than go wild later.
@HollowZero ~ Well, it was just one doughnut and you overcame temptation later, so moderation! Walking is so relaxing, it's always nice to be up and moving about. Of course! Since sweets are my big 'downfall' I've learned a few ways to try and control myself, if I could I'd definitely be a dessert-atarian.
@Yurusumaji ~ Everything in moderation. Lifestyle changes shouldn't be totally about deprivation since at some point later you'd want banana bread. I'm
super proud of you for working it into your diet later instead of just avoiding it! I'm a fan of zucchini bread myself, but only my Mom's home-made. A good way to make the banana bread more filling is to add very finely chopped nuts (if you're not allergic) and use whole-wheat flour when baking it. I've made it before and that definitely helps, though I agree it's more of a side 'item' than a full meal.
@Kitkumi ~
Congrats on making it a week, after 30 days... it will be so hard to drink them again. They just become SUPER sweet. My trading card addiction is/was Magic the Gathering, I've got some pokemon cards around here I got as a gift once though. Mt. Dew was my weakness too, now I can barely drink it.
@Rhini ~ I am the same way. Water & tea are my mainstays. Iced tea (unsweetened) and hot tea when I need 'comfort' food since I like that with cream and honey. Love water though. I'll also do the 'natural' flavoring packets, but I try and avoid too many artificial ingredients.
@BrightSide ~
Sweetie, I'm
super proud of you for eating a cooked food even though I know you are struggling something fierce. I can only say that we are here for you, but ultimately, this is something you have to do for you.
@fiwen30 ~
Yay! I'm glad you were able to successfully make a meal out of the Quorn. I've had that issue ('gag reflex') with a few things as well, so I empathize. Great job!
@shockponie ~
Yay for a day well done! As mentioned, as you get more used to the poses it does get easier (and you feel less awkward too, usually). What I love best about Yoga is there are a lot of variations for skill levels and the only measurement is yourself. You want to push yourself, but not hurt yourself. Congrats on a challenge well done! You may also want to look into a Hatha style yoga, it's more duration and less 'quick' vinyasa's so it's easier when just starting out.
Page 28@renee_chan ~ That's going on my wish-list! I've got
hips and some of those moves still feel awkward!
@BrightSide ~
Perhaps that's something you should think about for your weekly challenge? What mental block is holding you back, when you clearly have the desire and drive?
I believe in you, but I also know just how hard what you're going through is. I'm glad that you've got someone to text with that can help you and I am super sorry that you're being triggered. Sending thoughts and wishes that things get better on that front for you soon!
@DaffyDilly ~ Seasonings are a great way to try something new! I love walking around spice shops, the smells alone are usually amazing. That's one thing I miss, not living in a big city right now. All the little awesome specialty shops. I love your idea of having 'bad' minutes/hours rather than days. It's a much more positive mindset.
@TexasGal ~ I love that phrase, "just say that you missed a step, not the whole dance"=) It's an awesome visualization too, since it makes me think of Wicked (the musical) where Elphaba goes to the party and dances. Mmm. fried chicken. I think next weekend I'm going to make a baked 'fried' chicken, cheddar recipe. That sounds quite yummy.
@egyption ~ Hurrah!
1 small step... =)
@Zetta ~ I know the feeling. My entire house is tiled so when I scrub floors... I scrub floors. I also live in some circa 1950 style housing and some of the stuff.. I scrub and scrub and it never looks clean. One square a day sounds very fair! =) Ozzy's been enjoying our walks, so hopefully your dog is enjoying walking with you too!
Gosh, you guys are doing so great. I'm really proud of you and the choices you're making. Even if you're not 100% you're still trying and that is awesome. Just never forget that.
