Thanks for showing us! The insulators are really neat how they come in different colors - any particular reason why, or just because?
It all depended on what type of wires they were used for (telegraph, telephone, electric, railroad signal, etc). The colors were usually intentional, but many wern't (like purple ones).

loginAnd Friday I went to the National Insulator Association's national show at the K.C.I expo center (Kansas City). I discovered one hour after the show ended there was going to be a brony meetup at the Cabelas located near the Kansas Speedway, which I passed on the way up so I stopped in on the way back with my G4 customs. The snacks were cupcakes (what else would they be?
), and activities were karaoke (which I didn't take part of), videos, and a drawing contest complete with prizes, which I did take part in. Needless to say my drawing capacity is greatly reduced when i'm not at home, but I made one and it got first place! The prize for first were 2, G4 blind bags (Pinkie and Lily Blossom) and a jumbo activity book (And if you look close you can see a certain grey pegasus sticking her head out of a window on the covers!
). There was a sub part of the drawing contest where you drew something including the host's OC pony. The prize was a Dr. Hooves custom.
After it ended at 9PM most of us went to a nearby Wal Mart and raided the blind bag boxes
Though I already have the full set, I picked up 5 more: Another Lily (custom time), Fluttershy, Fizzypop, and the glitter Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle (haven't opened them yet).
