Gauging Interest: Time Travel Ponies (start mid- October?)

There aren't many time periods when a historically accurate horse would be interesting as far as a time-travel swap goes. Like, a historically accurate horse circa 1980.

LOL True enough!  And I'm cool with the "ponyville way back when" thing.  3 and 3 seems fine to me.  Now I wanna start the swap...  LOL  But I have no monies for swaps right now   I shall have to wait until October.  I love October anyway

I know, me too. But everyone and their dog (including me) are in the max # of swaps right now, so we'd have to wait anyway. If all goes well with approval, I'll start sign-ups on September 12th ish. Until then everyone can work on their 3x3 list


Oh, one more thing, if you really don't want to think of a character for your pony, I was thinking it would even help if you said:
Ancient Egypt, something for a girl
Regency, "
Post-Apocalyptic future, "


That would leave lots of freedom but give me an idea of which direction to go. You could also say manly, unisex or no preference, etc... what do you think?

I love history too, and I'm all about the accuracy when people are doing living history, having said that I have to say that I'm thinking this will be more of a 'ponies having people experiences' like instead of a pony dressed like a medieval charger, he'd be dressed as a knight. You may want to take that into consideration. I do think sending a little cannon/howitzer along with the artillery-man pony would be super awesome! My husband would be super jealous.


So many great themes to choose from! Just a thought to get your mind humming: I am leaving a mere 3 choices of time-period for your partner to choose from along with a kind of 'character-type' description for each one, so be thinking of what you want. ( Like if you chose the Wild West as one of your three time periods, you would then say Saloon Girl or Outlaw or Gunslinger, etc...)

Ah yes, that was exactly what I was thinking as well, with the ponies functioning as the people or being 'representations' of  the style of a period, instead of your regular historical equine
 Sorry my Horse comment threw you off a bit I've been so involved with Great War stuff recently, especially the horse part of it, so sometimes I mix everything a bit up.

At any rate I would certainly LOVE to participate in this swap, though I hope going overboard with details wont be a problem

Just a quick update. Jupi has graciously agreed to do the partner assigning for me (assuming I get approved) so I now have a date for getting partners/sign ups close/swap starts on October 13. I am hoping to have sign-ups start on September 10th or so. You'll have a month between sign-ups and starting the swap.


Still working on rules/info etc. Stay tuned.
