Actually, more or less the same happened to me once. I went for a walk with my boyfriend to a park and I took TAF Sundance with me. Then I wanted to take a pic of her on the park and later I noticed her hair was purplish on some parts ! When I arrived home, it was back to normal o_O It has to do with the heat I guess, but I would also like to know why this happens !

Meaning her hair changes just by being in the sunlight. There are quite a few ponies which have this sort of uv reactive hair. But I have not heard of a Northstar which changes hair color from heat... Perhaps it go to hot and were near melting or perhaps the spa treatment and heat caused some sort of chemical process.

But for security I won't use the iron on any pony with similar hair in case the same effect occurs.
I've had this happen before with ponies with really dull hair. After I used the straightener I looked at the plates of it and they were covered in really dirty residue. Where as on ponies with new hair it didn't. So I guess it could be that the hair is coated in a build up of oils from hands of owners playing with the hair and dirt sticking to it?
Yep, I've had ponies who's hair I thought was a different shade of pink or purple, and when I've washed it the proper colour has come through It's a bit gross...and is why I don't keep the water in the sink when I'm washing pony hair...twenty five years of sweaty hands, food, dirt, dust and God only know what else...yuk!
