Ebay purchase + Childhood herd - UPDATE!
« on: March 05, 2012, 07:39:37 PM »
Got back from a trip to NY for a wedding this weekend to a surprise, my order of G1 "bait" ponies arrived.  Most of these lovely ladies are FAR from bait condition.  I'm in the process of cleaning them up.  The lot includes: SS Wind Whistler, Gingerbread, Stripes, 2 Peachies, Tootsie, Mommy Apple Delight, Heart Throb, October Birth Flower/Cosmos, 4 Sundances, Firefly, 2 Applejacks, Mirror Mirror, Majesty, Moondancer, Star Dancer, Medley, and a SS Heart Throb.  A few are probably not salvageable, but I'm going to do my best!

As if that wasn't enough to put me in a good mood, I found out my mom and sister will be visiting tomorrow.  They were cleaning out part of my old room and found my childhood herd I had stashed away.  They're going to bring them!  I can't wait!!!

Huge congrats on that lot turning out not to be bait.  That is awesome news that your childhood ponies are coming home.  You shall have to post photos when you get them.

About half of the "new" ponies have been bathed and scrubbed with baking soda/magic eraser, the other half are waiting their turn. I also put two of my "old" ponies through the bath.  But the icing on the cake?  My childhood ponies are still in the MLP duffle bag!

Spa day, 6 ponies are drying, pics to follow tomorrow I hope :)
The first 5 are from the "bait" lot from ebay, there are a few more that need a little tlc before they're as pretty as these girls, and a few that are actual 'bait' condition.

And the first from my childhood herd, Tic Tac Toe!  This lovely lady has some of the least signs of wear,  the rub on her cheek was actually a factory defect, I remember being VERY disappointed when I first got her out of the box!

Update!  I really wish I had a before picture of this girl, because you wouldn't believe the difference!  She was one of the ponies in the "bait" lot.  Her hair was a mess and she was really dirty, but she cleaned up really well and her paint is wonderful! (not to mention my first attempt at doing straw curls!)

A Dancing Butterflies from my childhood herd.  Sadly most of the ponies got a hair cut from my younger cousin before I could rescue them.  She cleaned up well and most of her paint looks good, there's some rubbing on her eyes.

New Additions!  Just found them on ebay for a good price.  They could use a little tlc, they're quite dirty and their hair is obviously a little wild!  I'll post a pic when they're cleaned up :)

It makes me so sad when people label nice ponies as bait. It makes me wonder how many good ponies get customized or trashed.  :(  I'm so glad you got them and cleaned them up! :D They look super lovely! Congrats!
