Yep, I positioned them before I ever started and drew lines around them, similar to how the Clawdeens/Clawds are done, then I just followed the lines like I did with the hairline.

bigger pics on my flickr, just click one of the thumbnails. I cut off her hair to the length I wanted and glued her ears on. I dressed her body last night while her hair was drying XD First girl since Frankie to actually pull off this dress.

Thanks for the info on the DT line^^. I wish they have made the new dolls, or at least repack the old DT Clawdeen, wich is so expensive now!

Is that what Abbey's hair looks like under the fur or did you do the braid?  I haven't bothered removing her fur trim headband to look for myself, but I don't think mine is like that.  Beautiful :)  And of course I love the dragon girl

Nope, Abbey has no braiding under her headband. Pickle gets lots of compliments on his photography, but he is also a VERY talented stylist. Check out his Flickr sometime; he does some amazing work on other dolls/toys as well!

When I built my Grey Wolf CAM, I used the wig that came with set and poked holes for the ears through the clear cap.  I cut the clips off and attached them on the inside of the wig.  It looks so much better then the hair clip thing they had going on, and are removable in case I ever change my mind about how I want my CAM to look.  The BEST part though, is that they are also turn-able!  I can turn an ear slightly to the left, and the doll has an all new expression.  Adorable!

To the CAM fans - is anyone else's bee girl ROCK HARD at her crown? I nearly broke a needle this afternoon trying to root hair into it. O.o (As it stands, looks like I'll be rooting around it and this gal will be stuck wearing a pony tail for the rest of her life.)

For you lucky ones having both Abbeys, how big is the difference between Signature Abbey and SS Abbey? Is her skin the same, the hair?
I'm debating getting one, But I'm not sure for now and need some motivation ;)

The major difference is in the makeup. Signature Abbey has deep fuschia lips, and SS has a softer more lavender-pink. The eyeshadow on SS is also a lighter pink, and has the addition of blue shadow under her eye.  My signature Abbey seems to have a deeper shade of pink eyes than my SS, but I don't think it's intentional; more of a "different batch of paint".

The hair is also very similar. The streaks are in the same position (blue on the right side, lavender in the middle, pink on the left). The rooting is a tad different, because SS is meant to have the ponytail, so the blue and pink is more noticeable on the sides.

To me, there are enough differences to make it worth having both. But the dolls aren't as different as say signature Cleo and DotD Cleo. And if you aren't a completionist, you could probably find just the stock if you want dress-up options.


Edit: quick side-by-side pic. Please excuse the hideous lighting and the lack of styling. I just grabbed both of them off the shelf and tried to get a decent comparison of the faces.

Whoops, didn't read thoroughly enough, and now I have a doll and some clothes that smell of smoke! What's the best way to freshen them up? Dish soap? Baby shampoo? Run through the washing machine in a bag on delicate cycle?

Bleh, I hate it when that happens. Try taking some activated carbon charcoal made for aquarium filters and sealing them together with it (but not touching because it will stain) in something like a tied up trash bag. It should help to suck some of the smoke smell out. Fresh air also works wonders if you can stick them near an open window for a few days come warmer weather. Good luck! :)
