I tend to move and re-arrange my ponies pretty often so they don't really accumulate much. I also have them in a room that is nearly always shut, window is never open, vent is closed, door is only open if I'm in there. So that helps I think. I'll run my air purifier in there every so often too. If I notice a bit of dust on the shelf surface I'll wipe it down with a dry towel. I try to be pretty attentive to my collectibles. Stuff in other rooms of my house tends to get dusty really quick (I've noticed since moving to CO that it is much dustier than where I'm from in CA!) so I try to really make an effort to keep up on the items I display in my toy room. Next time I move, I'm not counting on having spare rooms anymore so I'm hoping I can get some glass front cabinets or something to protect my things.

Mine live in those clear pull out dresser drawers. I check on them about once a month and never really need to dust.

I clean my collection twice a year. That's when I check every pony for cancer spots, regrind etc. After that they all go for a spa day and I wash off the dust and they get new curls if needed.

I have around 400 ponies now, it usually takes me 2-3 days to go through it all.

Now I feel weird, because I dust my little collection at least once in two months and mostly, it's even more often - I sometimes clean them up only because I've got a new pony or sold a pony or got tired of the way the G2 babies are lined up and want to see if I can mix them up a bit and then I go back to the old sequence... I use small brushes (like the ones used for applying powder make-up?) to dust ponies and do the shelves (glass or wooden ones) in traditional ways. Sometimes I brush the hair and dust it off too - and if needed I'm giving the ponies a wash or a good clean-up with wipes, at least once a year.

Seriously, I clean the ponies and their shelves more often than anything else in my room, including my jewelry displays.

Oh no! Not weird! I would love to be as dedicated to clean and dust them once every couple of months! I am jealous! :P

Today my optimus prime Shrine (i have a lot of optimi) got moved to the other side of the room.. and all of those boys got dusted.. I got rid of a mess of old books i didnt need any more and so they got the room.. so that left me with the room to move my wedding castle down to the table and all of my ponies got a good dusting. my brush and grows got put in the place the castle was. (honestly moving it cus im gonna get the twilight castle for christmas (daddy knows me well) and i need the room)
my g1 flutters and g4 glimmer wings are out front of it.. and most of my clones are on the castle.. my dark pink flutter shy is there too!!
I tend to mess with them quite a bit.. so they dont get too dusty.. but it was nice to see them all sparkly clean!
