How many different versions of the pony are there?  Which one has the glittery eyes?

There are three or four versions. There the original with mask, one from Tabao with glamorous garbage tinsel, Through the Mirror (walmart) with glitter eye shadow, and one as a human, released with Twilight in the same way.

Official confirmed versions?

So far just 2 - the version which came with a masquerade mask in the current Playful pony wave and the new one which has gradient shaded legs and glitter eye shadow, she is from the Walmart "Through the Mirror" line and is yet to be released.

There are some random with tinsel versions floating around on ebay and Taobao as well but whether they will get a release or are tests we simply dont know at this point.

I think we're just starved for non-main 6 ponies, and also her pony version is kinda cute and has nice color scheme.

Yeah I agree with pineapple, its a combination of things. She is a very pretty pony, we are desperate for any "new" characters, she is one of the main characters in EQG - all of it combines to make her flavour of the month right now.

I have about 4 or 5 I'm going to be using as prizes at the VA meet.

I don't know how HTF she is or how wanted she is. I think maybe she has a lot of hype because it's a different pony from the main 6. We get the same 6 ponies and then 1 different. Kinda boring so that might be why everyone wants her because it's YAY! A different pony.

Then because it's 1 you'll end up only seeing 1 or 2 at the store.

I know at most stores I purchased and seen her there was usually just 1 in the group, and in a couple of the instances I managed to find 2.

Me too, Vintergatan.  I just adore her colours.  A very kind Diamond has picked one up for me so I am looking forward to adding her to my collection

I was gonna say I picked up a few for my fellow mods who do not live stateside as it seems she has not shown up by them. 

She is a nice color combo and like has been said not a bore 6 pony.
