I have so many happy memories around the few mail order ponies I got! One was Lucky, and I saved the points and we ordered him... and I very much remember Mom and I both thinking how cool it was, the first boy pony, we could have pony weddings... then he was a baby. I loved him, but I remember both of us laughing because he was a kid- the ringbearer, but there was no groom in that first mail order!

And the box with all 6 of the collector ponies, I remember making the argument to my mother that it was like buying 5 and getting one free, and she fell for it. When that box came, I used the box as a stable for them, and those 6 are still among my favorites. They wear special bracelets (jelly rings) so I won't get them mixed up, which has come in very handy in the past few years when I had duplicates of things- I know I didn't sell the wrong one! And those 6 still live in the old dream castle I got at a yard sale.

I was talking to my mom about those ponies a little while ago, and she remembers getting them, too- she probably enjoyed the whole process as much as I did, even if she didn't actually play with them. Of course, she might have combed them after I went to sleep at night...

I ordered Seabreeze, too. I have one of them, but then had extra points so I ordered 2 more. They are in Mom's attic somewhere, still in their envelopes and never opened. Someday we'll find them, and it will be like going back in time!
Thanks so much to Calico_Star for her beautiful work on my Avatar!

Now that I'm reading about all the mail order ponies, I have a LOT of mailorder G1s, but since I'm a 90's kid they were all my aunt's.

Lemme see..
Lucky
Satin N Lace
Ember, purple
The rerelease set of the six first ponies, Bluebelle, Butterscotch, Minty, Cotton Candy, Snuzzle, and Blossom

Was the Megan and Sundance set mailorder? I have that. I don't have Megan or her sister though because dolls creep me out, they were sold with my grandma's house. My aunt let me take what I wanted of her childhood toys.

Oh! I have my aunt's birthflower pony, I have no clue which one, I don't know flowers and they all look the same. xD

I have some rainbow ponies and some so softs too... I dunno, I know the generations and stuff but as far as what was mail-order and what wasn't I have no clue. Born too late.

I never got any mailorder pony, because in germany we did not have ponies for points. I got a poster and a carry case back then. The carry case was one of the biggest prizes they gave out.

Sure did.

I actually remember one time, I had 8 pony points to spend. I painstakingly pored over the brochure and I narrowed it down to Rapunzel or Star Dancer the sparkle pony. I spent hours trying to decide between the two. Rapunzel was 8 points on her own, I believe.

In the end, I chose Star Dancer because she was more beautiful and I could get more stuff (think I ordered Baby Lucky too out of those points.)

I remember justifying to my mom, "Rapunzel has a decapitated floating head on her butt, right? I wouldn't want that, gross!"

There was a So-Soft Sundance with Megan in a pink dress that were a MO set, but the standard, non-fuzzy Sundance and Megan in a white dress were sold in stores, I believe.  My sister had the standard set but we never played with Megan much.  We sort of awkwardly tried to shoehorn her into our epic Ponies Saving the World plots and she always wound up stuck at home taking care of the sick and dying babies while the ponies went around slaying dragons and finding a cure for pony plague.
