Here's a weird one: I prefer "loved too much" ponies to new or mint ponies. To me the whole appeal is the restoration. Frizzy hair? Rusty tail? Sharpie marks all over? Rubbed off glitter symbol? Not a problem. I've brought it to the point where I own only a single completely new pony, which I got as a birthday present. That being the case I can't resculpt molds or reroot hair for the life of me.
Same here, I love cleaning up ponies. If you can't restore it, I don't want to know.

One of the disappointing things about growing up is that you just sort of....forget how to play. That said, I do enjoy brushing and styling my ponies' hair, and they do sometimes go for a little gallop across my desk There is one other thing that sort of counts as playing: my friend and I really enjoy making up little stories about what the ponies are doing, but without acting them out or anything. For example, we have a theory that when we're not around, the ponies get out and have wild parties, or put on theatre productions, or go out for the day. I know, we're weird

Awesome collections! Spotted a few things I remember from childhood, so like a little trip down Memory Lane
Thanks =) do you collect just mlp or are you like me and hoard all sorts?!

I only collect MLP at the moment. I think I do still have some other childhood stuff up in the attic - Polly Pockets, Puppy in my Pocket, Pound Puppies etc. - so maybe one day I'll sort it out. If only I had lots of space to display all these things! 80s/90s toys are so awesome, or maybe that's just nostalgia talking

I totally identify, though I haven't been in that situation yet. I have been known to display ponies that came from the same seller together on the grounds that they're probably already friends and it'd be mean to split them up....

I sort of can't see the point of sea ponies. They're fun in the cartoons but I can't see why anyone would want to collect them.... (But each to their own!) Also, I think the G4 ponies-that-you-can-buy are cute, but I can't stand the G4 cartoon. I just feel like it tries too hard, and the title Friendship Is Magic is too cutesy even for a lover of cutesy things like myself. I feel better for getting that off my chest!
