The Dollhouse / Re: BJD Shopping?
« on: June 13, 2012, 10:46:49 PM »
Hi!

I hope it's alright to post this here, but I actually wrote an article on my blog about choosing your first BJD which may be of interest to you. You can read it here: http://inkymilkdrop.blogspot.com/2012/02/bjds-choosing-your-doll.html

Perhaps it will give you a few more aspects to think about as well :)

Pony Corral / Re: Girl Ponies who you Think are Boys

:muffin: Pony, I could have sworn she was a boy. Not really sure why, I never confused Rainbow or Scootaloo as boys which seem to be a common mistake, but something about :muffin: Pony screamed 'male' to me. To be honest, I still kind of prefer her as a boy.

Wow, so many lovely people...*sigh* Usually I avoid sharing my photos, but since I actually had the chance to wear my new dress a couple days ago, and this doesn't show my face too much, I'll take the plunge.

Haha, wow, I had no idea there was so much hate for the word California! Maybe it's just my bias because I'm from there, but it really doesn't bother in the slightest. Do I see the connection between Sundance and California? Well, she is named SUNdance, that sort of makes sense I guess. I suppose I'm so used to seeing shirts with random states name on them (usually Florida or New York, but sometimes others too, I think Virginia and New Jersey I've seen a bit) that I didn't really think twice about it. Honestly, it's just that hideous fringe (and at 23 I don't think I'm THAT much out of the targeted age, now am I?)

Off Topic / Re: Generic vs name brand weigh in!
« on: June 04, 2012, 12:21:01 PM »
When my sister and I moved out we switched to a lot of generic things, but there are some things we just wouldn't budge on. Granted, she's pickier than I am and insist on brand soda (I'll take the generic stuff but I rarely drink soda in the first place so I guess I can't judge), as well as Del Monte tomato sauce. But the one thing we both agree on? Tillamook Medium Cheese. <3 Pure love. Expensive for cheese but something we both need name brand for.

As for generic...what can I say, I'm cheap. I dig the generic cereal, and actually, the Costco Kirkland chocolate covered raisins are AMAZING, better than Raisinettes, that's for sure.

Pony Brag Arena / My very first brag...
« on: June 03, 2012, 11:50:23 PM »
Alrighty, went to an anime swap meet a couple weekends ago. But nothing but ponies and doll clothes <3 I bought a few G4 blind bag ponies and a similarly sized G3 Pinkie Pie but unfortunately forgot to take photos of them. But that's alright, what I really wanted to show were these beauties I snagged up for 50 cents each!

Upon closer inspection, let's see who we've got here...

I'm still learning my ponies but even I have to be right in saying this lovely lady is a G3 Rainbow Dash, correct? She was the cleanest and newest looking in the bunch, and she seems to be in lovely condition, just a little hairbrush and light wash should have her looking good as new!

I nabbed this pretty as I've never seen a pony like this before and I really don't know much about her. She's pretty grimy and needs a good washing and hair detangling, but I think with a bit of cleaning she'll look just lovely.

I grabbed this squirt because my friend quite liked her. Admittedly, I also didn't want to leave without a unicorn or pegasus, and her tiny size is adorable. I've also never had a glitter pony like her before and I didn't quite like the full sized ones so she seemed a good compromise. She's still not my favorite and I'm unsure if I want to keep her, but I may try to fix her up still.

This gorgeous girl is my absolute favorite! <3 She's also pretty dirty and has some tail rust, but I'm absolutely determined to get her all cleaned up again! I now know she's one of the Bridal Beauty ponies and now I'm absolutely determined to obtain the others to go along with her! She's so beautiful!!

Aside from these swap meet ponies I was also very pleased to find these two fakies at the local dollar store...I think they're SO cute and blend in extremely well with my other ponies.

And here's Fizzy Pop (which my dearest mother bought for me) to finish ya off!

I was SO excited when I spotted that shirt a few months ago and I rushed over to it...only to see that horrible, hideous fringe cut. :( I'm sorry, but I find that style unbelievably ugly, so despite how adorable she is, I had to pass it up. Why can't Forever 21 (or Hot Topic, or whatever), put old school ponies on more items? Or even Gen 4, that's cool too, but on shirts designed for those of us who DON'T wear boring mens t-shirts?

Oh, he's so adorable!!  :lovey: I was actually just thinking how cute it would be to have a Thunder Lane custom made, now I have proof how sweet he would turn out!

Mom bought me a blind bag pony today when we went out shopping, got me a cute little Fizzy Pop :) Normally I'm not too much into the blind bags since I dislike the nature of not knowing what exactly I'm buying, but I love Cherry Spices and really really hope to find her!

Use this system and check the back flap of the bag. No more unknowing!

Thank you!! Though...I must be exceedingly name not to really understand it. It says for Fizzy pop her numbers are 21415, yet I'm looking all over the package I bought her in and no where do I see those numbers printed anywhere...

YES! One time in elementary school the teachers had us watch it when it was raining outside, and I was probably one of the few who actually paid attention or didn't make fun of it. I tried searching for it to watch after, but was never able to find it. I did like reading the book quite a bit though.

They weren't officially mine so I don't know if it counts. But I still sigh over the two big brother ponies being sold for 50 cents each at a swap meet not too long ago that I passed up because I was both embarrassed for buying so many other ponies, and also cause a couple other girls were looking at them. I don't think I'll ever get a big brother now without a hefty price tag attached :(

A. Yep :) Not an official pony but when I was younger I used to carry a sky blue pony with pink hair EVERYwhere with me.

Q. Is customizing old ponies a good/easy hobby for absolute newbies into the crafting world?
