For you seasoned vets out there.

I think I'm getting back into the spirit of customizing, and of course if someone takes on my art task, I may make them a custom. (psst...check over at the Adoptie forum).

The thing is, I haven't really done much sculpting. I've never done wings and corsets, things like that. I'd love to see how they're made. Now, I'm not trying to steal anyone's thunder. TBH, I've never sold my customs that I have made, they've all been for swaps, friends, or family. I just really enjoy showing off ponies. My Willy Wonka set I did last year was the biggest sculpting job I've done, but I really want to take a hand at wings and corsets too. Any time I've tried sculpting, it failed. The clay is way too sticky, too soft, etc. And I do play around with Apoxie sculpt, Fimo, etc. I have it all.

So, does anyone have any in progress photos, videos, tutorials, etc? I haven't been able to find any.

And ..any hints on top hats or any hats too? Not sculpting, just fabric.

Oh, good Q. Is it UK only? I'm in the US, but I'd be willing to enter possibly if you offer it here as well. I've always wanted a custom by you.

My ponysonas are created from things I love or have deep emotions for. My first one was Twilight Soldier. There's a song by Rhapsody called Echos of Tragedy, the name was created from there. In the lyrics, he sings "soldiers of twilight turn back to hell burn in your fire of glory for me will be your end". I loved the idea of a Twilight Soldier, and I created him to be a Norse hero, as I'm Asatru, aka Viking. His colors are just my favorite blues and his symbol (which is going to be redone a little better) is two viking swords crossing with a bright red dragon which symbolizes his hero/protector nature.

My second is a female unicorn, Twilight Innocence. She was also created from a really moving song by Novembers Doom, Our Twilight Innocence. I just loved it so much, I wanted to bring it to a pony form. So, I created her!

My very last is just created from the most awesome doggy ever, the Husky! While I was waiting on my girl Niea to grow, I created my husky ponysona. Nothing really special, but I wanted her to be more of a wild Husky, a native if you will. So, her symbol is a gorgeous dream catcher. I have no real backstory or anything yet for her.

The last pony I made is just something cool for my b/f before the real big Brony thing came around. He likes Type O- and green, so I created: Type O-

Well, this stinks. I preordered first thing earlier today and I got the email stating she's backordered. Welp, I made my boyfriend preorder while it was still up too. We'll get her eventually!
