Jewel eye for fashion style G4

I'm doing a Mimic in a G4 fashion style but I'm not sure what size of crystal buy.
What would be the best size to use?

You need to find a metric ruler as all jewels are measured that way.  There are some charts out there, let me see if I can find my book mark so you can see size.  It depends on if you want to make the whole eye a jewel or just make it more like a G2 as an accent.   BRB

okay here is one chart -

and another

I thought I would say I finally measured my twilight sparkle (who's becoming mimic) eyes are they are about 2cm from top to bottom at the thickest part so that equals out to be about 30mm which is the largest gems you seem to be able to get.

Now does anyone know where I can get mimic colored gems that size? OOAK AE doesn't seem to carry them that large, even a couple sizes smaller works

I'm going to look like the biggest weirdo when I go to Michaels with a pony head to see if they have large enough rhinestones.

I have that one too, great site.  I do know that scarping booking gems are larger then many real crystals.

Best of luck and be sure to post and show us how you made out.

If you can't find the color of rhinestone you need, you can carefully sand with fine sand paper the opaque base of a clear rhinestone to make it see through :). With that, you can paint the pony's eyes the colors you need, glue the rhinestone on top, and you'll be able to see the color you painted under it through the crystal. I did that for my BB Mimic with green paint and clear AuroraBorealis rhinestones:
