Off Topic / Re: Favorite Cartoon Songs Non Disney
« on: January 02, 2015, 07:54:14 AM »
Oh geez, there have been some good ones! Off the top of my head:

-The Last Unicorn
-Man's Road (The Last Unicorn)
-Thunderella's Song (Snow White: Happily Ever After)
-Spark Inside Us (Princess and the Goblin)
-This Is My Idea (Swan Princess)
-Once Upon a December (Anastasia)
-In The Dark of the Night (Anastasia)
-Dressed like a Dream (My Little Pony)

There's also a really gorgeous piece of background music from Balto, but I don't know what it's called! It's the one that plays when Balto's at the bottom of the cliff howling with the wild wolf. So pretty!

It's called Heritage of the Wolf...please tell me I wasn't the only one howling along with them?

THIS SO MUCH <3

I love James Horner, and I personally prefer non-disney music to disney, not sure why.

I have many favourites, including the theme and wolf scene from Balto, the American Tail theme, songs from Anastasia, NIMH, Fern Gully, Once Upon A Forest, Brave Little Toaster, How To Train Your Dragon.. so many..

Huh, I think the Brave Little Toaster has some terrific songs! (Especially B movie show)
I also recall enjoying the opening song to the Last Unicorn, despite any imperfections.

I'm generally okay with singing in cartoons provided that it's not forced and the song is well written and such. There are many Disney songs that are "meh" to me but I don't think I cringe at any of them.

Indeed, everyone has their own opinion!

The 4th example of pony art that has to be referencing the beginning of Oliver and Company.

I really don't think this is anything canon, just a quick mock-up for that charm set.

I just can't see hasbro going with a design like that for Scootaloo. It doesn't suit her character, and Fluttershy already has butterflies. And weren't they hinting at musical talent for Sweetie Belle in season 1?
Applebloom's is cute though, I wouldn't mind if they went with the heart apple :)

Ooh I like them! I hope more designs pop up, maybe with some extra colours in the mane?

Ohhh Yowies are coming back? I loved those as a kid too. I hope they're not too different from the originals  ^.^

I would love to find a good handful of G2 Littlest Pet Shops.. particular molds such as spaniels and collies. The prices on Ebay for those molds have risen so high it's rather scary x( I don't understand if it's because of that youtube show or just cause they're discontinued and people suddenly want to collect them.

Despite the hundreds of different lps released over the last 10 years, I rarely ever find them in op-shops!

I had a good laugh at the "lunch box" xD

Isn't "cutie mark" what Dot called her mole in the Animaniacs movie?

Yesss, she did! And it always bugged me in that too, even before MLP used the term XD
Oh no! Now that's all I'm going to think of when I hear that. XD

"Cutie mark" always makes me think of that line from the movie too :P

I prefer the term symbol any day!

Does Julia count? My family and friends call me Julie!

And Julie, agreed about Mr Blue Sky! That song is on a CD we're currently playing at work and I always look forward to it coming on. (And as I mentioned earlier, yay for beatles!)

Toploader's cover of Dancing in the Moonlight also never fails to brighten my day

Pony Corral / Re: g4 pony hair styles
« on: September 15, 2014, 06:36:21 AM »
I only leave G4 hair alone if it actually turned out nice when I removed it from the box..
Otherwise I give them a wash and style their hair in whatever way I can get it looking nice with how it's naturally curling/lying (if that makes sense) I often use those little clear elastics, especially on tinsel hair x/
I don't care about show accuracy.. to me G4s are different ponies from their cartoon versions :p

The pop ponies have appeared all over Perth as well, there are quite a lot to choose from. I really don't plan on buying any, but the Zecora one keeps tempting me

Also, Shadowbolt RD has popped up in the past few weeks, and Design-a-Pony Cadence. There's more, but I can't recall at the moment :p
