Customs / Re: Question about sealing
« on: February 17, 2014, 10:23:51 PM »
Yep, I seal between FBRs and symbols, and wipe off any mistakes with a damp cotton bud. :)

I got my ponies today, thank you Kaelynn! They're lovely. :) Will post pictures later tonight!

Yay!!  Work has been so crazy and kids have been sick so I haven't had time to check in til now.  Sooo glad that they arrived ok!!  Sorry I forgot the card...it's sitting right here on my desk so I can't imagine how I managed to miss it.  :/

I'm so glad you like the ponies!!  I had a hard time figuring what to make for you since you have such a small number of ponies that you have armies of so I decided on the reverse color scheme.  :)

I don't see your post in the brag thread though?

I love the ponies, they're wonderful - and I have a fondness for white ponies, too. OMG that FBR is to die for! And the jewellery was stunning, thank you so much!

You didn't see my post because I'm a ditz and forgot to post it, haha.

Pony Corral / Re: "Bronies"documentary on Netflix...
« on: January 30, 2014, 04:21:51 AM »
Yay, more focus on the straight white male side of the fandom, while everyone else gets ignored or brushed under the rug because they're not 'omg special' enough. I really couldn't care less if some guys like little toy ponies. Hardly a topic worth making a 'documentary' over, except that obviously is this society straight white guys  must have their finger in every pie and be the most important aspect of, well, anything. Colour me surprised.
SO over the brony hype.

MLP Nirvana / Re: Rehairing Nirvanas
« on: January 29, 2014, 09:49:52 PM »
I won't buy a rehaired pony. In the past I unknowingly bought rehairs that were not properly marked or disclosed by the sellers. I think rehairing ponies can lower the over-all integrity of collecting... there's a limited number of old toys in the world today & changing their original condition is irreversible. If I'm going to spend the money on a HTF pony, I want it in all original condition, even if that condition is less than perfect.

This is pretty much how I feel about it. :)

There was a discussion on the MLP Arena facebook page recently where someone mentioned that they are going to rehair a couple of Argies with what a lot of people thought still had pretty good hair. It's just interesting to see people's differing opinions.
While I dagree that in the end, it's the owner's decision to do what they like with their ponies, I do think there ideally needs to be some kind of...community awareness and responsibility? If every pony that has slightly dry hair or a minor haircut gets rehaired, pretty soon there wouldn't be any full originals left!

Your alternate birthflowers would probably be worth somewhere about $200 - $250 each, assuming good to very good condition. :)

MLP Nirvana / Rehairing Nirvanas
« on: January 28, 2014, 04:53:19 PM »
So, I'm just wondering what people's opinions are on the old rehairing nirvanas issue!
Do you rehair without a second thought? Are you adamantly opposed? Do you fall somewhere in the middle?

Personally, I don't really agree with rehairing nirvanas, but obviously it's going to depend on the condition. Completely bald, I don't have a problem with, but rehairing just because the original hair is a bit dry or has a bit of a trim does bug me.

I probably wouldn't buy a rehaired nirvana because I feel it takes away a lot of originality and authenticity from a HTF, sought after, collectible item, and I feel it is, essentially a form of customisation. Of course, there's always going to be exceptions to the rule! ;) But for me, personally, I'd rather have dry hair or a hair cut than a rehair.
But in the end, any pony is the owner's property to do what they wish with.

So, how about you? Where do you stand on the issue?

I hope no one is getting too worried about being unable to ship due to weather or unforseen family circumstances, or pet problems or whatever! I know I don't mind one bit if my pony arrives late because my partner couldn't ship on time for whatever reason! Please all just take care of yourselves.

Why is it so stupid? He probably just doesn't know that there's anything different about them?

I'll be shipping tomorrow, post office wasn't open over the weekend. :)

So nearly done -  I thought final check in was the 15th not the 12th! Will send pics tomorrow. :)
