So I always thought that Brazil Twist had a medium red hair colour - I know mine does, and most others I've seen. But I was looking at the one BerryMouse has for sale currently, and apparently her hair was a match for Firebird - much brighter and more orange.
Are there two different versions? Has anyone else seen another firebird-red haired Brazil Twist? Thoughts?

Does anyone have any recommendations for matte sealers, other than Testor's Dullcote? It's not actually matte enough for what I want! I find it more satin the *matte* finish. I'm also finding with the Testor's it's also starting to go a bit sticky if I handle it more than a tiny bit. I find when I'm rehairing, there's quite often little sticky dark patches on ear tips etc. afterwards, and it's driving me crazy! It's happened with more than one can, too.

So, I'm just wondering what people's opinions are on the old rehairing nirvanas issue! Do you rehair without a second thought? Are you adamantly opposed? Do you fall somewhere in the middle? Personally, I don't really agree with rehairing nirvanas, but obviously it's going to depend on the condition. Completely bald, I don't have a problem with, but rehairing just because the original hair is a bit dry or has a bit of a trim does bug me. I probably wouldn't buy a rehaired nirvana because I feel it takes away a lot of originality and authenticity from a HTF, sought after, collectible item, and I feel it is, essentially a form of customisation. Of course, there's always going to be exceptions to the rule! But for me, personally, I'd rather have dry hair or a hair cut than a rehair. But in the end, any pony is the owner's property to do what they wish with. So, how about you? Where do you stand on the issue?

So, here are the ponies I made in the Blackest Nights swap, for the lovely Waeponies! I had grandiose ideas for a pony, but my original idea was a bit beyond my capabilities - so I made two ponies, instead! The big one is Midnight Flight (cliche and cheesy, but what can you do? ) and the little troublemaker is Brat Bat. Here we go! Together: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginBratty: Sculpted wings and tail, painted in acrylics, rehaired with a dollyhair gradient from black through red to gold. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginMidnight: Painted with acrylics, rehaired in Dollyhair. I'm looking for some inspiration for a friend who wants a pony with a kind of...landscape silhouette. i'm sure there's a word for what I'm describing, but I can't remember it, haha.
Anyway. Show me what you've got!

So I've finally managed to get the pics of the carousel swap pony I made off my camera! My silly card reader stopped working. Anyway, here she is! She's actually mounted on an old brass candlestick holder I found, which seemed perfect for the underwater/sea theme I went with. I topped it with a little faceted onyx gem. Tail, scales, saddle etc are sculpted from Apoxie Sculpt - Ohhhhh scales. Individually made, each one. Haha. She's painted with acrylics, embellished with handfuls of swarovski crystals and all her scales have an iridescent green coating - her saddle has iridescent pink. She was haired with a mixture of dollyhair colours, I *think* Key Lime, Sugarberry/Bubblegum blend, and black. The colours in most of the pictures seem to have washed out her body colour a bit, IRL it's darker and more of a vibrant hot pink than the pictures show. Here's Wonderland, the pony I made for NichiTsukinoko for the Bath and Body Works swap! She's based on the Secret Wonderland stuff from B&BW. Nichi wanted a bait that wasn't a G3 or G4, and I knew she liked G1 Unicorns, so I used a Sparkler bait. I also knew she liked carousel ponies, so I decided to go with that! Wonderland is painted with acrylics in a kind of streaked gradient from dark purple to a pale pink to mimic the Secret Wonderland packaging. Her hair was hand blended through 6 colours for a nice gradient (phew) and sculpting was done with apoxie sculpt. Her carousel pole is wirewrapped and topped with a sparkly blue goldstone ball. She has swarovski rhinestone accents, too. So, here she is. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

The 'which blind bag do you most want to see released as a brushable' has inspired me to use up a couple of prepped G4 baits. But who should I do? Help me choose!

So I need some silver paint, and it has to be *really* metallic and silvery. Like, chrome. Does anyone have any suggestions about a brand/colour that might work?

So I have a DB Songrider I'm about to rehair. I saved what tiny bit of hair she had left and compared it to some Dollyhair Nylon, and I found a match - but I forgot to write it down, and I've since thrown out the hair stub. Could anyone do a colour match on her for me? I *think* it was one of Heart Throb, Bubblegum or Old Bubblegum.
