Welp. Looks like I'll be eating at McD's all next month.

Gonna do what I've done every other time: walk in, ask of I can buy the pony toys, hand them my money, and leave. If I'm lucky, I'll end up speaking with an awesome manager who will just give me all of the toys in one go. It happened before!
Well, maybe I'll get a sweet tea. Those are always good. :P

Presumably they'll call her Buttonbelle, which is the name she's used in her blind bag and brushable pony releases. Between those and her cameos in the Friendship Games, Hasbro does seem pretty fond of her.

I always end up with extras since I just order the food and don't go in and ask for the toys. I'd be happy to sell them off to people overseas. I just hope I don't get a ton of the same toy over and over like last time.

So it's that time of year again? Hope I don't get three of the same one like I did last year. I'll just be getting mine with the meals since the toy alone is about half the cost of a happy meal, and I don't want to go to the counter and ask for the toys.

Eh. I find that you can either buy them at the end of the run, or you can nab the whole set on eBay. Other then Starlight Glimmer and thatvyellow pony, I'm more interested in the Transformers.

I've already got a nice little collection! I won't wanna post any pictures yet- I've still got seven McDonalds to go to but my roommate needs to come home at 11am! I offer to pay for lunch= James takes me to buy poniez! I love hunting them down, that means I can go to all these Gamestops too and help a friend find a plushie!

I went yesterday and grabbed a Transformer. You know Hasbro, when I buy a Transformer, I would like for it to be a giant Robot and NOT simply a disc throwing truck. :pout: It was Optimus Prime btw.

McDs hasn't had transforming transformers since 2007 - Transformers Animated. :(
I should know I have them all from that run (it's the TF toyline I collect) and they're pretty good for meal toys.

I did mean in general and not just this wave, though SunShim would have made a lot more sense than Buttonbelle at least. I agree last year was probably when she should/could have been inserted.

The fact that the tails aren't always the same exact colour(s) as the rest of the plastic hair bugs me, but Coco's colour scheme is lovely. :)

I got my Pinkie Pie so I'm set! I'm kind of impressed with these.. They're very cute and look reasonably well made, for a McD toy. (I even got my Pinkie for free, amazingly enough.. Not sure it SHOULD have been free but hey we did buy two adult meals so when I requested to buy a toy and the guy said I could have it for free I didn't argue!)
While we were waiting for our food this super adorable very excited little girl came in with her grandma. She was VERY stoked to be getting a Happy Meal and was eagerly telling her grandma all about how Pinkie Pie was her favorite. It was very charming... Though it did make me feel a tad silly, given that I'm a grown woman and I went there to get Pinkie Pie too. ^^**

I got the whole set today & as far as McD's ponies go I think they're pretty nifty! The manager at my closest location was very helpful once I explained what a 'customer appreciation pack' is & not only went & found all the ponies, she also insisted on charging for only one toy! Thank you again, nice McDonalds Ladies!
Couldn't get the color changing gimmick to work here though as it was the opposite of sunny.
I think Dash's eyes are supposed to be that way. She's looking to her rear left. It's just a little odd from the front. I should post a pic of my Rarity's right eye, it's printed about an eighth inch above the eye divot.

Some restaurants get customer appreciation boxes for each Happy Meal promotion which contain full sets of the toys, expressly for the purpose of being sold to those who come in looking to collect. I don't believe all locations get them, & sometimes you have to explain the concept; this particular restaurant I've had luck at twice now so it's likely a regular thing there.

^ over all the years I've asked for it... never has the cashier known what I was talking about, so I ask them to check with their manager if they don't offer to talk to them themselves. usually the manager knows that whether or not they have it. actually all 4 of my nearby McDs have had the sets.

Dude, so no one at mcdonalds seems to know anything about the Customer Satisfaction Box lol. One manager told me that they stopped doing them recently whaaaat. Another told me the CSB is what they use to display the toys.... *bologna sandwich my bff worked at a mcdonalds*

I went back TWICE today actually! Once this morning, and I got Pinkie! And another time in the evening, and I got Suri Polomare/ButtonBelle! Apparently they get new ones later this weekend, so I'm looking out for Starlight!

So I got Pinkie Pie yesterday, and I went back today to buy another one and I got Rainbow Dash, but it isn't the new Rainbow Dash. It's the one from the last round of ponies which was I believe Rainbow Rocks? So I dunno how/ why that happened. I didn't have that particular Dashie so it all worked out but it was still kind of weird.

One of my mcdonalds also have leftover my little ponies from Rainbow power- the ones with the stickers! It was so weird, but they had DJ and RD.

I got all of the ponies today. I'm pretty impressed with the poses! I think there are 5 different poses between the 8 of them, if I counted correctly? I wish the brushables had more variety in their poses like these girls...ah well.

I've worked at McDonald's for the past two years and I've never heard of the customer appreciation pack. I'll talk to my manager today about see if he knows. He's super great and I actually opened the MLP toy box (Rainbow Dash/Pinkie Pie) before we were advertising them! Down side is that I hope they have the next two in store today and I haven't missed any of them. At my store they're $1.25 so if anyone has missed out on some of them I can try and get them for you. (: I don't know what we currently have (I only work Fri-Sun), but I can let you guys know when I do.

From my experience, it's based on stock availability. I went to one of my Walmart McDonalds and they had #1 - 4 in the front, and a box with 5 and 6 in the back. I notice the Walmart ones go through the toys faster than the regular McDonalds do.
Plus I remember years ago when a friend of mine went to a McDonalds that first weekend of the MLP toys and she got toy number #8. So It may be random as well.

Depends. Sometimes we get all the boxes at once or a few at a time depends on the truck delivery. We tend to open boxes when we run out or if someone asks if we have a certain one. They are usually grouped 1&2 3&4 5&6, etc. It's never on a schedule, it's simply until we run out or new toys come in.

I think Starlight Glimmer is supposed to be with Rarity?
The McDs I was at had Twilight Sparkle and Coco as #5 and #6, and Rarity/SG were the only two ponies they didn't have at the time.

I got all 8 today. Just ask for the "customer satisfaction box". You can buy all of them at once, no happy meal required.
They charged around 2.00 each.

I got fluttershy yesterday and Pinkie Pie on Friday. Now I only need 5 more.

Yesterday I went to three different McDs and the first one only had #5 and #6. The second only had #4. Third had #1, #2, #3. :silly: So i ended up getting #1-#6 on my first day! Not too shabby if you ask me. I only need #7 (Rarity) and #8 Starlight Glimmer now! :happy:
The weird thing is that my #3 Fluttershy wasn't the new one it was the Rainbow Rocks one from 2014. :( Fluttershy is one of my faves so I'll have to hunt down the new and improved version because all the rest were from 2016 and that was the only 'recycled' one. :yikes:
Another weird thing is the pricing in these different McDs!! One place charged $1.79 +tax so $1.95 for ONE Mc Pony! :drunk: That's a LOT if you ask me. Considering a cheeseburger happy meal is only $3.26 here you're better off getting an entire meal instead of spending $2 on just the toy.
HOWEVER!!! The McDs location closest to my apartment gives AMAZIIIIING deals on Happy Meal Toys for some strange reason even if you don't buy the full happy meal but have bought ANY KIND OF FOOD ITEM EVEN OFF THE DOLLAR MENU, they give you a happy meal toy for only .50 cents!!!! :shocked:
So I got my #1, #2 and #3 toys for only $1.63 including tax! Let's do the math here--- I got THREE toys for LESS than the price of ONE at the other location. That's crazy!! But it made me so very happy last night LOL :lmao: I don't know if anyone else's McDs does this but $2 for one toy as opposed to 3 toys for under $2 is a hella good deal. :whoa:
Hopefully, the last two I need show up soon! Since the location by my place is only on the first three I anticipate having to wait awhile unless they go through them really fast. :drunk:

I've been on a break from collecting for awhile, so I didn't know about them until I pulled up to the drive thru for a quick lunch. Then had to go to three different McD's to get them all. The first one had 2, 3, and 4. The second one just had 5 and 6 and then the last one had 7, 8, and one 1 left.
(Then afterword's, the Goodwill that never has ponies had a few ponies, I think the ponies are trying to pull me back into actively collecting again. LOL) :biggrin:

So far I have Pinkie Pie, Starlight Glimmer, and Rarity. I also got a Rainbow Dash and a Fluttershy but they're Rainbow Rocks left overs... I love the whole color changing tail thing plus all the ponies just look super cute this time around so I'm trying to get them all! I commute by train every day so on days when I have extra time I'll swing by the train station McDonalds and get one. So far, the one day I've had time so far to go to that one I got a Rainbow Rocks pony. I'm hoping when I go back tomorrow they'll have the right ponies. This is by far the most convenient McDonalds for me to go to, but if I get another Rainbow Rocks from there I think I'll give up on that location...

The eyes are supposed to be like that, though the execution on how they look is not that great. They should have had her looking forward but instead decided having her looking kind of to the back. It could have been worse though.. they could have both eyes looking backwards like they did with Luna in the normal toy line at some point XD

Wow okay so get this- so many things were just generously given out to me yesterday and I don't know what the deal was. I went to a McDonalds and got a free ice cream (I came in looking for ponies, they randomly asked me if I wanted an ice cream), movie theater was giving us free popcorn for whatever reason, and then right after that we stopped by another McDonalds (pony hunting) and the cashier found #5, 6, and 7 (rarity, twilight, and coco) ponies for me and insisted I didn't have to pay for them! She said its fine because its just toys. :shocked:
So now all I need is Starlight Glimmer! She will be easy to track down next week! Ｏ(≧▽≦)Ｏ

Lol I got the Rainbow Power Rarity and Luna in North Dakota traveling today XD they didn't have this year's at all for some reason, but I was thrilled to get these two anyway : D

I finally found the last two I needed to complete this year's collection!! :frolic:
Then I found two AJ's @ Goodwill one from a previous McDs promotion and another that looks like a vinyl figure, maybe? Still goes well with the rest of the McPonies. :P It's a great mystery why they keep leaving out poor AJ, though. I know she might not be as popular as say, Pinkie Pie or Twilight but she does have many fans and I know they are continually disappointed when she's left out! :yikes:

For some reason 2 (RD) hasn't surfaced around here - some of the stores last week had 1/3/4, but no 2. Weird!

I was gifted Twilight Sparkle this week (breaking my 'no alicorn Twilight Sparkle' rule, lol) so now I'm actively considering getting the whole set... Especially since I don't have either Coco or Suri/Buttonbelle in my collection at all.

As far as McPonies go, I personally think these are the most well made thus far! I'm very pleased and impressed with this set and the color changing tails definitely add to the awesomeness of this latest collection. :happy:

I got 2 Button Belle yesterday. It seems like every time I go into McDonald's for this set, the same guy waits on me. He must be getting used to me because he didn't even have to go look when I asked what ponies they had. He just told me "the yellow on and the pink one". "The pink one" is a little too vague for MLP, but they were SUPER busy so I didn't press the issue. I told him I wanted one of each, but when the Happy Meals came I got two Fluttershy. I waited until there was no line and then went to ask about "the pink one". He went over to the toys and pulled out Button Belle. I asked him if there was a second one because I always collect two sets. He really had to dig, but he found one! I think the poor guy will be happy when this set is over and I stop bugging him. :P

As of this morning, I have Pinkie Pie, Starlight Glimmer, Rarity, Fluttershy (well, 3 of her haha), Button Belle, and Coco! So I just need Rainbow Dash and Twilight. I'm a bit worried about getting Rainbow Dash because she was one of the first ones...
Do you think there's a chance of tracking Rainbow Dash down still? If I need to I'll just get one on eBay or whatever, but I'd rather find her at a McDonalds! I'm not so worried about Twilight since she is one of the later ones in the set.

Finally managed to find Starlight Glimmer today. The one I went to literally had the entire set of ponies. Now I can stop hunting for them... but I still go there on a weekly basis because I just can't say no to their Sweet Tea. xD

This is the first time I have ever gone to McDonald's and asked for just the happy meal toys, it was so strange XD
I managed to get Twilight, Fluttershy, Coco Pommel and Buttonbelle. I went ahead and got 2 of each except for Fluttershy in the hopes that someone in this thread would like to trade any one of those for Rarity or Starlight :hope:

Woohoo! Last night I got the last ones, I have one of each now except 2 Rarity and 3 Starlight.
I ended up getting them all from the same McD's and I bet they are tired of me asking which ones are in. Whew!
Last year I got Twilight only because she has wings and I didn't even know who she was. That was sooooooo long ago now, you know, pre-addiction, haha.

I've only got Rainbow Dash so far, opportunities to go to McDonalds have not come up (long story) and I'm likely to miss the rest but it can't be helped. I'm just happy I got Dashie; the little cardboard Tank that clips on to her tail is oh so cute!!

oooooooo, nice pic of all of them all set up. Well, so much for me keeping them in their packages, I am going to want to play with them all now and even if I did go back and get the rest I just blew all my money before they run out on Build-a-bear muffins, zecora, applejack and the outfits for Celestia and Luna (because the Princesses are coming in but not more clothes so those might run out).
No reason to keep stuff in packages. How come they aren't pushing the pets being with them, that would have gotten me to buy 2 of everything. I guess I need a nice box to keep them in when I get all the pieces scattered. Reminds me I should by the Walmart pony toychest for all my plushies too, is that too far off topic? I might need as many as 3 of those things at this point.
Dangit! I didn't even think about the happy meal boxes themselves. I'm especially appreciative for your picture now, thanks HoustonCollector72. I need to buy an actual happy meal so I can keep the pieces in that box.

I haven't opened most of mine yet so I wasn't aware of the pets, either! That's really cool how creative Hasbro was with this set. I think they are the best well made collection thus far. The quality of the hair is a tremendous improvement and the color changing aspect doesn't hurt either! :silly:

One of the McDonald's in Billings MT (right near a Walmart if that helps, I'm just traveling) finally had Starlight Glimmer and Rarity! :D
I was going to get two Starlights(one to open, one to keep mint), but one of the employees said she had a new one in instead of two of the same, so I just took the Rarity :P Doubles are second priority right now.
And I thought with my cross country trip ID of hsd them all by now :blink:
Literally every one else I've gone to has had just RD and Pinkie, or the old 2013 Rarity and at one, Luna (needed her though XD)

Another weird thing is the pricing in these different McDs!! One place charged $1.79 +tax so $1.95 for ONE Mc Pony! :drunk: That's a LOT if you ask me. Considering a cheeseburger happy meal is only $3.26 here you're better off getting an entire meal instead of spending $2 on just the toy.
HOWEVER!!! The McDs location closest to my apartment gives AMAZIIIIING deals on Happy Meal Toys for some strange reason even if you don't buy the full happy meal but have bought ANY KIND OF FOOD ITEM EVEN OFF THE DOLLAR MENU, they give you a happy meal toy for only .50 cents!!!! :shocked:
So I got my #1, #2 and #3 toys for only $1.63 including tax! Let's do the math here--- I got THREE toys for LESS than the price of ONE at the other location. That's crazy!! But it made me so very happy last night LOL :lmao: I don't know if anyone else's McDs does this but $2 for one toy as opposed to 3 toys for under $2 is a hella good deal. :whoa:
It's not just you. I've acquired seven of the eight, and here's how it broke down for me:
Twilight Sparkle was a gift, which set me on tracking down the rest. Rarity was $1.69 at the first McDonald's, Rainbow Dash & Pinkie Pie were $1.49 each at the second, Starlight Glimmer wouldn't ring up at McDonald's #3 so the cashier just gave her to me, and I got sticker shock at the fourth McDonald's that charged $2.29 each for Fluttershy and Coco.
Now I just need Buttonbelle to complete the set, and I still have three local McDonald's stores I haven't stopped at yet. We don't have a single Target (or Toys R Us for that matter) in the county, but we've got a McDonald's on every block. ;)
And now that I've seen DJ Pon3, I'll have to find her too. Sigh... now I'm going to look up all the old McDonald's sets and see which ones I want to get.

I really like the tail hair on these, the color change is a fun extra and it's still nice and soft after a couple weeks of repeated brushing. Surprisingly seems to be better quality than not only previous McPonies, but also the regular ones Hasbro is pushing in stores right now D:

I got all of my ponies!! I called ahead and spoke to a manager, and - she mentioned the customer satisfaction pack!!! :O I just assumed no one in my state had ever heard of them, but she knew about it, and pulled out the ponies I needed! So I got all three in one fell swoop!! Wahoo!! :cheer:

I completed my set yesterday!!! :frolic: I went to our McD's on Wed and they were completely out of ponies. :( The yesterday I went to visit Kenai because it was his birthday. We went by his McD's and they had the last two I needed! :frolic:

One of my ponies has a tail with just one or two strands that are 1cm in length and stick out like cowlicks! >_< Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I'm thinking of pulling that one strand out, but I don't know if that's even possible with McPonies. :blush:

Every one I've been to scince Saturday has been out :( and most switched to the next thing...
I also ask for the displays, just none were willing to give them out, think employees had claimed them

Good luck! The Happy Meal site has actually changed, so they have officially ended the pony promotion. There might be some leftover though!
Whenever I ask for the display toys, they tell me they have to ship them back to HQ...
