Madhatterda was my partner for the Ornament swap and she spoiled me beyond words! I am so happy with everything and all the extra work she did for me and my daughter! I cant think her enough!

I cant believe She would do all this for me! It was so neat, and to top it off underneath all these ornaments she packed them into containers I can use to help display the ponys on! :shocked:

Oh sorry I haven't responded to your pm yet Tiff I've been kinda overflowing with them. I'm glad that you liked your box though and all the ornaments turned out to be things you would enjoy. It was fun and interesting shopping for you because your style is totally different than mine. I actually sent pictures to my sister and had her help me pick some things out because that's stuff she would like. Well except everything would be hot pink with tiger stripes maybe, but the shiny and pretty she adores. Lol, I had intended to decorate the inside of your box with fake snow and snowflakes, but I couldn't do it without ripping them off the sides. :lol:

Thank you Nessy_86 for a wonderful GIANT box of joy! I love it all!
My box arrived just in time for Thanksgiving. I will probably be putting a few of the natural ornaments on our table. Nessy said something about a mountain of bubble wrap and popcorn and she was right. You have probably the neatest, nicest, most perfect wrapping style I have ever seen. Nothing was going to get broken in your box. It was impressive and thus deserved noting!

There was so much to open! I'm excited about the advent calendar. A chocolate a day and I really enjoy advent calendars. I'm always tempted to open doors early. There were lots of pretty stickers (which I collect) and more in the card not pictured, yummy chocolate, red hots (yay! I dug into them already), gummi fruits, and French vanilla hot cocoa. I had just run out of my cocoa from the mug swap and I was thinking about going out to get more! Good timing! There are treats for my kitty too. Nessy, your kitty picked out things he will love! I'll take pictures of him playing with them when I'm back home.

So notice the tupperwear container? This box held homemade chocolates! You really spoiled me! At first when I saw the letters I wasn't sure wht it spelled. Ha ha. I'm a gold star? No, that's not right.

These are going to fit right in on our tree! We like to put natural looking ornaments all over and these are so pretty. I love the acorn bell especially! It is so pretty and it's my favorite type of metal color: copper/bronze. There is a pomegranate on one of the ornaments which is one of my favorite fruits. I like that these have a vintage feel to them too.

Two super cute birds. The blue one is soft and the orange one almost looks like crystal in person. Both are adorable.

Three vintage bulb shaped ornaments. I like the gold and white/cream colors and the stars remind me of childhood favorite ornaments. They are going to be an elegant touch to our tree.

Nessy did you make the wooden ornaments? I like each one. The snowflakes are sparkly with orange/pink color combinations (one of my favorite color combinations). The beaded snowflake also reminds me of childhood. I keep meaning to find more ornaments just like that too. I like beaded snowflakes a lot. I dig them.

I leave this brag with a snowy photo. Wait? Are those icicles tied to the chair? Why yes! Nessy found the prettiest most perfect looking icicle ornaments I have ever seen. They look just like the real thing and I am super thrilled with them!

I'm so glad you liked everything! I was worried something would get broken in transit so I'm happy that everything made it safely and in one piece. I went a little crazy with the packing materials!
I painted all the wood ornaments (the three snowflakes and the bells), put together the felt bells, and beaded the snowflake myself. I also painted the heart (as you noted). I decided to at least attempt something crafty with your swap box since you commented that you liked hand made things :) I actually really enjoyed painting all of them, so now I've bought a few for myself I hope to finish up before Christmas!
You were so much fun to shop for! I just couldn't stop picking out more stuff for your swap box.
My kittys are glad your kitty likes his new toys! :D
This was an awesome first swap for me to be in! I already can't wait for next year!

I love the handmade ornaments! I guessed that the wooden ones were because of the colors, but I didn't know you made the bells and the beaded snowflake too. They look like they are vintage. I'm really so happy with everything!

I got my swap box from kaninchen today!! I am super happy with my new ornaments, I love them and they were the first things to go on the tree when I put it up tonight :D

They were literally a last minute add-on! I found them sitting next to the gum at the checkout of Target! The only pack!! I knew it was meant to be because I was buying bubble wrap and shipping out that day when I found it. Plus I was mkia's hot chocolate picture with a candy cane:)
I have just spent the last hour crying over the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead, so I need a smile (and more tissues). And hugs, I need lots of those:(

It's official, I shipped my box... and it should hopefully get to my partner in 2 days (2 Day Priority). I can't wait to see more brags!! We're finally starting to put up the holiday stuff, got our barn all decked out in lights and put up our light-up reindeer outside by their animal pens... Still haven't crossed the threshold of putting up inside holiday decorations yet but... perhaps this weekend! :biggrin:

my very very long overdue brag!
apologies for the lack of photographic evidence of the wonderful wonderful gummies. they did not last long!
pretty jeweled spider! pickle! and lookit those adorable little fuzzy wuzzy seals and oh-my-goodness and TIANA! she hangs so proudly next to my saint louis cathedral and alligator and other new orleans ornaments! the toy soldiers are beautiful. the sparkly traditional ornament catches the light so prettily and the toys the wonderful wonderful toys! the fly trap plant touched me so very much, i moved from north carolina and it reminds me of one of m homes in the nicest of ways. there's a mug full of cat toys that the girls have already scattered across the house and mr. kaninchen has already had a photoshoot with his silly little cat and the santa hat. my kitty is next. gwahaha.

The gifts for my kiddos, They all ran off with them after they opened them so I didn't get an opened pic except for my youngest daughter's stuff on the right. The girls got Christmas Disney princess cups and stickers, plus a chocolate sucker, and my son got a Frosty the Snowman cup and stickers and sucker. They also got some cute little ornaments to share to put on our tree, and a little ornament making kit to "customize"! Thank you so much Sugar! That was so sweet of you to include my kiddos!

Seals?!?!?!?! I've been looking literally everywhere for seal ornaments!!!! They're my daughters most favorite thing in the whole world, and I'm trying to find her a seal ornament for her for Christmas.

Hrm... so my package says it's estimated delivery is today, Dec 4th... but there have only been 2 scans on Dec 2nd... both in my town. Last scan says "Dispatched to Sorting Facility" - er... what the heck USPS... srsly? You're braggin on TV constantly now about your improved tracking and scanning, it's an absolute lie - none of the workers are scanning anything more often than they used to... not with Priority, not with anything...
RAWRRRRR I am so sick of the USPS trying to promote themselves and still providing the worst service ever. :yikes:

The deer are so cute, they will look great on the tree.
The card also had an ornament packed in it. The beads and sparkles are great.

I started with the adorable santa bag since it held the card. Oh, that card is so adorable, so me. :) And it had a lovely note from Ice Crystal. Next up is the beautiful gold glittery box. Loving this box and I'm deciding where I'm going to use it. Inside was some great ornaments, loving the little glass mushrooms, and the sparkly cello playing bunny and the white reindeer's legs go up and to the sides when the bottom string is pulled. I collect bookmarks and adore the chibi Princess Celestia bookmark. And more stickers! :biggrin:

Hooray I got my lovely swap box today! My wife brought it in after she came in after work. It actually almost didn't make it. The box was pretty dinged up, and I didn't have to work hard at opening it. Poor thing just half fell apart. I was super worried the contents would be harmed, but they were fine.
I'm going to warn all of you my house looks insane. We've been doing Christmas decorations, I'm making stuff for gifts, my dad left his tools in our floor because we're working on underpinning andddd my dogs might have ripped up some tp from the spare bedroom while I was asleep. -_- I love having to clean up tp when I wake up. :lol:

There was a little tin in the package that had all of these figurines. I do have them but not the way Mkia did them! They each have a beautiful hook to hang up on the tree that she made. I love them and those hooks are beautiful.

In the box there was a lovely Alice tote which is cool because I've never seen it before. Then she had a cute owl pen and one of the nicest little mugs I've ever seen. It's going to go in my Alice room on one of my shelves next to the cute tiny pocket watch Radiance got for me in the Halloween swap (also kinda near the light switch cover UP did for me earlier in the year). lol What awesome Alice gifts I've gotten from all of you guys.

I love these two ornaments here! I should say I don't think I own one black poodle ornament they are always white and the other one reminds me of Suki. These are fantastic as a matter of fact while opening this swap box I kept running in the bathroom to show my wife stuff (she was taking a bath in our jet tub). I was squealing and running about.
Mkia was just amazing in putting together such a loving box for me, and I just about cried. The poodle and Schnauzer ornament (and along with some gifts she sent for my dog babies) were all ones where a portion goes to the ASPCA. During the holidays we always try to donate to bigger shelters or local shelters for the animals, even the zombie walk we attend during Halloween has a collection to donate to the animal shelters. This was an extremely well thought out and loving box.
I would like to also say the dog stocking in one of the pictures has gifts to our pups from Mkia's. I love that since my aunt and I always do that with our dogs. I didn't show their stuff because I actually took a little video of opening the gifts with the dogs. I'm having a bit of trouble uploading it, so I will post it later. I'm so glad you like the box tiki! Yes, the stuffed one is handmade to look like your pup. I've started embroidering so it was fun to be able to use that skill. Also the glass bulb with the scene in it I put together, the base part took ages to dry, I was afraid it wouldn't at all! I tried really hard to find things you would like, and I'm glad they didn't break on the way!

@Sugar: I got those stickers at Toys R Us! There were only two boxes when I got them and when I went back there were no more. It's a really lovely set and comes with some ponies you don't see often in stickers (Shining Armor, CMC, Luna, Cadance).

First bunch of ornaments and things! That peacock has a long, gorgeous tail I didn't get a shot of. The pastel pink hedgehog is so cute and I think I may just leave him out all year. The owl is precious -- I can never have too many owls on our tree and the wooden stocking is super cute as well. Funny story about Twilight -- I was almost going to buy her because I thought the sculpt was really cute and unique but decided to wait. It's like my xeevee read my mind! I'm really happy to have her.

Lots of yummy treats here -- mint kit kats (never seen or heard of these! Very excited to try them), Christmas tea, eggnog mix, and chocolate coated biscuits. Also Fash'em Twilight, a funny skeleton from a Dis de los Muertos celebration xeevee went to, a lovely fox, and a blown glass Rarity ornament I have been trying to track down for ages. Beautiful Mickey head ornament, a gigantic foam Hello Kitty (I don't think I mentioned how much I love Sanrio stuff either!! xeevee really is a mind reader), and Monster High nail polish which I'm bringing with me to my mom's since she likes for me to do her nails haha. Also! Fruit mince pies. xeevee mentioned that these are a huge part of her Christmas tradition. I've never had them. It's too late to heat them up now but I am going to try them tomorrow. Saved these for last because they're really special -- an adorable plush pony ornament with a snowman symbol. Did you make this xeevee? It's so, so cute. It has glitter in the fabric and everything. I can't wait to put her on my tree. Next to that is a special ornament just for this swap!! It's my favorite color and has an owl stamped through the middle, and owls are one of my favorite animals in the world. I'm so happy to have such a unique, memorable ornament on my tree.

@Sunshine: I found the one I got for Emberfly at Toys R Us, and I saw the Twilight one there too as well as a round one with Pinkie in the middle. :) I know some folks have found big foam ones at... Home Goods, maybe? American Greetings/Carlton Cards is responsible for most of them, I think, so if they have a store near you that would be a good place to look.
As for the blown glass one, I have no idea!! I hadn't been able to find that Rarity anywhere and I think she's more common in Canada than in the US atm.

Wowsers, so many boxes arrived yesterday! Tiki I adore those white fox ornaments. They are stunning. And Maddie, I love all that Alice goodness. Alice merch is awesome! I'll have to send you a photo of the tea pot my mum bought me from Disney, maybe you already have it, but it is sooo cool.
Ice Crystal, I'm so glad you like the box. I just couldn't stop buying stuff to add to it. Normally I would have shipped weeks ago, but as you said you liked Disney and Lion King, I really wanted to buy something from when I went to Disney and the Lion King. So that box just kept getting more and more stuff in it.
The little plush ornament was actually made by Anitas_Mom here on the arena. There should have been a note. Every year at Christmas I commission her to make some and a few end up in the swap boxes I'm sending out.
Did you get the note about how to eat the Tim Tams? It's very important.
As for the Rarity ornament, Entertainment Earth are selling them on ebay. They actually were quite cheap when I bought it too, I even got myself one. And as you said it was your most wanted ornament, I had to.
And how perfect is that wooden ornament swap ornament? I saw it on etsy, it was only a few dollars including customisation, so I was like, meh why not. And when it arrived I was floored at how perfect it is.

Christmas stuff! A crafts kit for making reindeer felt ornaments, what a cute idea! I had been ranting about how I would love to receive some crafts supplies, so this is spot on. ^.^

The packages weren't numbered, but I guessed right that the two most carefully wrapped presents would be the two most special ornaments, so I opened them last. :P First, there was this incredibly beautiful glass bulb with a glass Christmas tree inside. I love it so much, you wouldn't believe it! The Christmas tree is my favourite Christmas tradition, so this is just perfect.

At first, I couldn't really believe it, when I opened my last box: a snowman ornament made of Waterford crystal! I've always eyed the beautiful Waterford crystal items whenever I visited Dublin or some other place in Ireland, so this one really means a lot to me. :cry: (= happy tears)

Mirnyj - I have a Snowglobe that broke, saved it just like wiccan has it... still put it out around Christmas (it's a rocking horse) - so, it's not completely ruined by being broken! I've never looked for a replacement bulb for mine but, if you do find one wiccan, please share where you find it :lol:

My partner was the ever wonderful, always helpful, super crafty and uber-amazing PONYLADY!
:whistle: So at this current moment I'm waiting for my photos to upload, but my postman braved my scary driveway to get my package to me. And just a little side note, I definitely did NOT get any notice about the package :blush: so, I apologize Ponylady for making you wait but, I really didn't know it was there! But now it's here, so it's all good! :thumb:
So I first opened the package and everything was wrapped so beautifully! But not only that, it was definitely the "feel" of how our house is for Christmas, the gingham wrapping paper and the little natural paper-type ribbon, the beautiful festive seasonal embelishments! I opened it and definitely was like, "This is totally Me!" :biggrin:

Okay so, I am really bad at step-by-step picture taking, I open then photograph, so I'll start with the absolutely awesome extras that were in the box:
First - NOMNOMNOM Ponylady these look SO delicious! I love spice, cajun, southwestern, etc - and you were so good not to send me candy, I swear I've been gaining weight like it's my job lately :yikes: so I can't WAIT to snack on these delicious nomnoms!!

Second - :biggrin: I LOVE Febreeze and Glade candles, finally have a place I can light them where my cats can't go up and go *sniff* "Derrr what is fire?" - lol - and this one is pine scented, it's one of my favorite smells! Last year I had the same smell in a spray can and I bought like 10 cans because I love it, and I just burned the last of my other candle last night - so this is perfect! The house already smells wonderful (yes, I lit it, I couldn't resist! :heart:)
And also my FAVORITE lip balm in the world - Eos! And I haven't personally seen this "flavor" - Honeysuckle! The only ones we have around are the mint and... pink ones, this one smells SO GOOD. Already in my purse! :heart: Thank you thank you!

That was just the extras, now I get to share the AMAZING ornaments that I got!
The best part of the whole box was that Ponylady MADE ornaments for me! By hand! They are all so personal and I just LOVE them!
So photos, lol:
First, I opened (yes, I followed directions - carefully! :biggrin:) these three absolutely beautiful delicate wooden snowflakes! They're made of small twigs and have these absolutely lovely holiday feeling embelishments in the center! And there are three of them, they are all different but yet, all match. They are going to be perfect near the top of my tree, because I always end up with heavy ornaments, my tree looks barren on top, lol :lol:

Second, these are fantastic - Wooden reindeer! Another beautifully creative handmade ornament, one is Rudolph as you can see! :biggrin: I love that one is red nosed and one is black! And on the back, the year! Their antlers are little twigs, and look at those cute bows! I just love the design of these!

Then, because as I mentioned both Ponylady and I love fishing and nature, I got this awesome fish ornament! "From one fisherman to another!" :heart: - it looks like twigs but feels like metal almost, I love it!

And last, but definitely not least... I was blown away to find a personally created ornament with my Ponysona on it and Ornament Swap, I LOVE this! Not only will this be a prize ornament on my tree, but it is definitely staying displayed out in my pony room the entire year. It's porcelain and it's just... I mean WOW! :dribble: It's so thoughtful, it really blew my socks off when I opened it! :heart:

Handmade items carry so much thought and love, I really felt like you totally got inside my head and totally nailed everything, you definitely packed "our Christmas" into a box - as in how we make our house look, our tree look, everything was totally right on target! Once we put our tree up this weekend I will definitely have to take more photos. Right now I have them all hanging on the mantle (where the stockings will be soon, haha) and they just fit perfectly with my decor and my likes, everything! Ponylady, I've had so much fun being on the Arena and being able to get to know you, first as a mod, and then as a friend, and I just am over the moon for the swap box you created for me! :inlove:

This next ornament is the final one, and I saved it for last because it was the most special one. I even cried a little when I opened this one. It's another handmade piece and I can't even tell you how touched I am that you included this theme in the box. This movie means so much to me, and to have this ornament to remind me of this awesome swap is beyond words. :bawl:

I'm glad you liked your box Mirnyj. I'm shocked and relieved you got it so fast. I mailed it on the last day to guarrantee before Christmas delivery and was worried it'd get to you on Dec 23 or something. I mailed it and a parcel to the US on the same day and that one just arrived today, funny thing, the post.
I had fun finding things for you and I happened to have an extra Pinkie Pie from when I bought mine on sale weeks ago so it worked out perfectly. Sorry about that weird black spot on the Jack ornament, I'm not sure what that's from but it must be on the inside? I had to glue the top on so it's not like it can be checked. This'll be a great reason for you to make more. :lol:
I haven't seen The Snowman but since hearing about it from you it's on my 'to watch' list for this Christmas. Thanks for introducing it to me, I'm looking forward to checking it out. :)

I've been really busy these last few weeks, and under a lot of stress. I have quite a bit of personal stuff going on right now, and receiving my beautiful swap box from the wonderful M!ndy just made my day!

You know, I thought something was different about her hair! But honestly, you did such a great job with the rehairing and it looks so perfect with her body color and symbol that I thought I must be imagining it. I have another Mittens but she's one of my MIB G3s and still in a box from our move back to the States.
I noticed the missing bulb but didn't want to mention it in case it was an accidental oversight. What is it about cats and ornaments?? >_<
Sugarberry was definitely a perfect choice with her lovely red, white, and green coloring. ^.^

ooh, tim tams! Michelle, when you eat them you have to do it Tim Tam Slam style - you bite off both ends, then suck up hot chocolate through the Tim Tam, which totally gets all melty in the process. IT'S SO GOOD! I loved having that before I found out I was gluten intolerant.

Loch - yeah that's when I posted about how my cats had launched themselves off the desktop and in their midst, shot that box of ornaments right against the wall. I was so so upset that the one broke, when I went to pick it up it just shattered in my hand... :facepalm: But I figured, hey, other than the box itself telling you that one was missing, there were still... 8 or 9 right? So, I figure they would make super cute decorations for the top of a tree, since they're so tiny! :blush:

And then there is some cute little single tea bags, omg, again, another addiction. If it has caffeine in it, I'm addicted. So then there is all this chocolate. And the sponge. My goodness, how did you know I love chocolate sponge? I had it over in the UK all the time when I lived there for a few months, only they call it honey comb, and/or a crunchy bar. I devoured these soon after opening the box. Amazing. Yum. Also devoured: The Jellybellies, but I did share with my roommate ( otherwise known as my platonic housewife. We're both ridiculously gay, but not together XD ) as well as those amazing chocolate almonds and blueberries. I've been having a real thing for blueberries and almonds, so at this point I was convinced I had a stalker! :P

1. kaninchen's box from Cate_Dartfinger: Wow, such beautiful ornaments and thoughtful extras!! That Tiana is so sparkly and gorgeous, but I can't help but laugh at the placement of the spider in the brag photo. "Along came a spider and sat down beside her..." :lol: And what are those Makit & Bakit thingies?
2. Katgyrl's box from Sugar: LOVE the shiny red and green wrapping paper!! I love the special touches with the gift bags and labels, too. That Pinkie Pie ornament is super cute. I really love the glass bells and candies, too. And look at all the fun craft supplies!! And tea... and gifts for kids... and wow, baby ponies, too! What a great box, Sugar!
3. wystearya's box from jwalraven: This reminds me of a care package I might receive from my mom or mother-in-law. Both of them are highly skilled in the art of putting a lot of awesomeness in a small box. I would much rather get enough of the right thing than too much of something I don't want or need. This box is just perfect. ^.^

4. Emberfly's box from Ice Crystal: HA, love the cute Santa suit gift bag!! I really like the pony ornaments and extras, and how unique all the ornaments are to one another and their different materials. It's hard to pick a favorite!
5. tikibirds' box from Katgyrl: Those holiday gummies look so festive and fun. And fuzzy socks! I like fuzzy socks. ^.^ As for the ornaments, they are precious. That white and silver fox looks so regal and sophisticated, and WOWZA on the glass ornament. You must have surrounded that thing with a ton of bubble wrap, Kat! Well done! :iconclap:

6. madhatterda's box from mkia9: First of all, I love the comical wrapping paper! Reindeer cats and Santa/elf dogs, bwahaha!!! I am so in awe over this box. Such beautiful handmade ornaments... and even some for the dogs! :heart: I love the collection of Alice in Wonderland ones. Good choice for our Alice-loving pony friend. ;) I can't believe you didn't stop there. MORE mushroom ornaments, awesome doggy ornaments, a pickle!, and the coolest-ever mushroom mug!! What an incredibly thoughtful box all round.
7. Ice Crystal's box from xeevee: I am loving all the wrapping paper choices in this swap, but I think the pony Christmas wrapping takes the cake! And oh my gosh, a personalized Christmas pony card!! Love it!! I am just dying over this box. It's pure perfection! Mince pies, a special ornament swap ornament, an elegant glass pony, a beautiful fabric owl, a gorgeous peacock, the cutest-ever pink hedgehog, a laser-cut wooden stocking, fancy Mickey, and Twilight Sparkle in a stocking... wowza. Oh, and those snowman beads are adorable! But the best has to be that homemade pony ornament made by Anitas_Mom. What a truly amazing box, xeevee.
8. xeevee's box from barbgirl1999: I like the big, shiny ornaments to add some bling and sparkle to the tree. And those birds really are beautiful, especially the peacock. I have to laugh at the gingerbread ball ornament -- too adorable and squishable!! Mmmm.... Christmas tea and Christmas coffee. ^.^ Have you tried them yet?
9. archidraca's box from RedLynx: Again with the wrapping paper.... GORGEOUS!! I love how even the main box is wrapped up in the lovely sparkly snowflake paper. :heart: And does someone like snowflakes or what?? ;) I love, love, love the glass snowflake ornament and the silver one from Harvey Lewis is beautiful, too. I honestly cannot believe all of those blind bag pony ornaments (especially the customized one!), and can I please have a snowman Peep? ;) I know a lot of us are sending out pickle ornaments for this swap, but I have to say that felt one with the googly eyes is my favorite. That Tinkerbell snowflake ornament is also just perfect. I love this box. :heart:
10. wiccanpony1's box from MirnyJ: Such a shame about the owl snow globe! :( I wonder if there's a way to repair it? It is quite pretty even still, though. The reindeer and owl ornaments look like they came straight out of a winter wonderland. Lovely. :heart:

I am a lip balm addict. ;) I love the whole country theme that is going on here, everything from the wrapping to the gifts themselves. I love the fishing stickers and the big FISH ornament. The homemade twig snowflakes and reindeer are so creative. Great box!!
13. MirnyJ's box from Emberfly: Did you make those polymer clay ornaments, Emberfly? They are too cute. ^.^ I love all the sparkly ornaments, especially the candy cane. And another Christmas Pinkie Pie ornament! :heart: I am also very impressed by the Jack Skellington bulb. Awesome!
14. michelle53's box from M!indy: Pretty ornaments (especially the silver ones and clear snowflakes), but I have to say I'm most intrigued by the Tim Tams. They look delicious! ;)
15. MiRaja's box from Marigold: The treats all look so yummy and unique, especially those individual teas. I've never seen dark chocolate covered blueberries and almonds, but oh my goodness, yum!! Where did you find these? I love the painted glass ornaments you found, Marigold. The origami one is also awesome, but I think my favorite is the cat. Such a perfect choice for your cat-loving partner. Well done! :)

Lochness, the blueberry chocolates were found in TJMaxx (or maybe it was Marshalls?). They often have really tasty treats there.
MiRaja, I am so sorry my card was so pathetic! I mean, it was a pretty card but I know I just scribbled some quick notes on it. I was rushing to get your box sent and realized I forgot the card and then the pen I picked was not a good one for what I wanted to say! What I wanted to say was I started with a snow theme but then it morphed into something else especially when I read about your adorable cats and the loss of your childhood ornaments. I wanted to find things that were vintage to help start replacing them. I had no idea the cat would be from the same collection, but it looked so much like your kitties I had to get it. The shrimps were made by me. My aunt has a tree with a lot of origami ornaments that I admired so much as a kid that I learned how to make some. The shrimp were always my favorite. I love to make them. The poinsettia is vintage and has some repair to the color on it but I hope you like it anyway. It was kind of an add in as an extra for decoration as are a few of the other ornaments. When I read about your poinsettia lights I felt like I wanted to add it in. I'm so glad your cats like the toys! I didn't know you liked sponge candy! It is hard to find in the states except up in Pennsylvania and New York.

Time to brag!!! My partner was...Sandra! She put together an -amazing- box that fits me so well! I am a bit old fashioned when it comes to Christmas decorations (or at least, I aspire to be!), and I have a bit of a country flare to the way I like to decorate! Well, despite my style being different from hers as she mentioned, she totally nailed it! :D
Here are the extras! Well, minus a two cookies and a rice crispy treat. *coughs* They didn't last long after the kids and I opened everything. :blush:

The Santa and his present are salt and pepper shakers, so cute! Also among the treats...Guylian chocolates! Oh my gosh, the best things ever! I love them! I haven't had one in I don't even know how long. Sandra also sent me some wonderful teas (that smell soooo good), some luxurious butter cream frosted cookies (two of which were eaten just after we opened the box), and two rice crispy treats (the kids already share one). Mmm! And cookie cutters! I -love- cooking and baking, so they're perfect! I also put the cute boxes she used to pack things into the picture and her beautiful card!

Gorgeous hand towels and a set with an oven mitt! And they're Scotties and reindeer! My favorites! I love having festive hand towels and I was hankering for some new ones, too! Since money is tight for us this year, I haven't let myself pick up any and now I have even lovelier ones than I saw! The reindeer ornament is so pretty! Look! A rooster! He's lovely! And the star is made of many tiny cuttings of a tree branch. It's really cool! Then there is a lovely nest with eggs and a flannel Christmas tree that my kids managed to snag and run off with. And last, but not least a really amazing, antique looking ball ornament that is just gorgeous!
I don't think the photos do any of the ornaments justice! Everything is so pretty and it feels so luxurious and fancy (can things be fancy and country?), I feel so spoiled! I can't thank you enough, Sandra for making my Christmas so special! :tackleglomp:

I didn't make the polymer clay ornaments, they were store bought. I only made the last three in Mirnyj's box. I'd like to be able to work with clay someday.

I received my ornament swap box today and much to my surprise it came all the way from Germany! Libelle, on a side note, you have the most perfect writing I have ever seen! I was in awe even before opening the box!

First off, let me just say that I think my boyfriend was most excited about this box. He was with me when I opened it and literally squee'd when he saw the candy in there. Rolo's are one of my favorite chocolates and I'm sad to say that I only got to eat two pieces before he got ahold of them. XD I was, however, able to enjoy some yummy Sour Patch Kids. The ornaments I got were a beautiful Pegasus that wystearya customized, a pretty sparkly butterfly, and a glass bird that didn't show up very well in my photo. In addition to ornaments, I also got an adorable little pony keychain (who will be hanging off my lanyard at work), some cute Sanrio toys, a little MLP tin box full of STICKERS! And last but not least... BABY YOYO! She is soooo cute and perfect for my collection. I love her pose... it's just too precious.

Can I just say how in love I am with this one? :blush: He's just too beautiful. I had mentioned in my original post of how I loved carousel horses and would've loved one as an ornament and wystearya made my wildest dreams come true. It's a Pegasus carousel horse! She was able to decorate it to make it look like a carousel horse, with beautiful little rhinestones to boot! I was so touched, and it really warmed my heart knowing that she took time to really make it extra special for me. :hug:

Painting those wood ornaments would be a great idea! Why didn't I think of it? I am so glad you liked the non-pink-and-blue ornaments as well! It turned out to be really difficult to find some (this year's fashion was pale aqua and pale purple and the shops and Advent markets were full of these), but I thought traditional colours would always work well, too. :blush:
Haha, Vanessa is a common name in Germany - the personalised ornament was actually the first one I bought (I was happy you had a "German" name, so I knew I would be able to find something personalised).

I opened the amazing, glittery UNICORN First!! I was soooo happy and everything else just complimented the previous gift - you did an amazing job MiRaja ^.^
The card definitely made me giggle.. and my boyfriend laughed even harder :lol:
I couldn't get a good pic because of my terrible lounge room lighting.. But the glass bauble is full of tiny purple and aqua (my two very favourite colours!!) cranes and GLITTER!! MiRaja made it for me!! :heart: There's also tiny crane earrings :biggrin:
I think the beaded/sequinned baubles are also made by MiRaja too?
Everything is SO sparkly and I'm still covered in a little glitter - but anyone who knows me, knows that I pretty much live my life covered in glitter :P

I was super delighted with the wrapping paper, all wintry silvers and frosty pale blues and pinks - I managed to save out a few good, large pieces for re-use and all the ribbons, too. ^.^ We have this habit of re-using bows and ribbons as long as we can, then using them as extra tree decorations, so they'll be well-loved.

Holy sweet tooth, Batman... that's a lot of candy! The little penguin bus was full of sweets, and that's besides the incredibly huge pile of chocolates and jelly-chocolates (like Turkish Delight) that were scattered liberally throughout the parcel. :blink: Wow. Sweets, some of which are already gone. I'm especially loving the chocolates (in the stocking) and trying to not eat them all at once. Me and my little sister sampled the vanilla hot cocoa yesterday, and it's very good. Inside the mug is some mini marshmellows for the cocoa, these are very hard to find here in Finland.

I had no idea mini marshmallows were hard to find in Finland otherwise I would have sent more.
I'm glad you like the pickle ornament, lol. It was nothing fancy, but I thought it would be a fun little addition to your box what with all the pickle talk we did in the swap thread. ;)
The tree ornament was made out of salt dough, baked, and painted. I have a few others here that I made, although I noticed (after the fact) that the dough tends to get soft again if the air is humid. So just pay attention to it. I added the ribbon and the rhinestones to the wooden rocking horse, but it won't hurt my feelings if you want to embellish it or change it altogether. The main thing for me was that you liked the carousel pig. All the other ornaments were extras in comparison to that one. I practically jumped for joy when I read how excited you were about the pig. ^.^ And yes, it is Lenox. Did you know there is a whole collection of Lenox carousel animals? Before this swap I was blissfully unaware they existed, but after finding that pig for you I am trying to figure out how I can justify buying the whole collection for myself. Haha, yeah right. Maybe one special occasion at a time. I especially want the seahorse, rooster, unicorn, lion, and (thanks to you) that cute li'l piggy. ;)

Cate_Dartfinger, so happy that you finally got your box from tikibirds!! And what a great box, too! I am a huge fan of owls myself, but there is way too much out there. Just because I like owls doesn't mean I want every owl product on the market, you know? I can't tell you how many crazy owl gadgets and knick-knacks I have from well-meaning friends. Some of them are awesome, but a few have left me wondering what in the world the person was thinking when they chose it for me, lol. All that to say... the ornaments tikibirds picked out are absolutely GORGEOUS! I also really like that hand-painted bottle cap magnet -- it's cute AND sparkly. The best. ^.^

After something as sweet as that, I wish I didn't have to say what I am going to say next: my sister Barb passed away very suddenly this morning. I think it was a heart attack but no one is 100% positive at this point. There will be an autopsy on Thursday. My mom called shortly after 7:00am with the news. I keep replaying the conversation in my head. Speaking of which, my head hurts and I really need to take a nap. I stayed up late as it was chatting with friends on FB and watching Doctor Who with my husband, and when I was finally ready for bed, my little baby guy woke up hungry and grumpy. Usually a full tummy and a clean diaper does the trick, but for whatever reason, he could not be consoled. It wasn't until after 5:45 this morning that I fell asleep, and then I was woken up by my son telling me, "Mom, the phone is ringing." Everything is a bit hazy after that.
I know I'm not best friends with everyone in the swap, but I hope you don't mind me using this platform as a sounding board. I need somewhere other than Facebook to vent. While I have gotten a massive outpouring of support there, I am getting annoyed by all the samey "I'm so sorry for your loss" comments. I know people mean well... and what else can one say, really? I have said similar things when friends have shared the loss of a pet, grandparent, sibling, etc. I think I'm just physically and emotionally exhausted to the point where I'm allowing even the littlest things to upset me.
Thanks for letting me ramble. Not sure what else to say at the moment, I'm just really tired and my head hurts.

I woke up with a pounding headache though am feeling better now after a small snack of cheese and crackers, water, and two Tylenol. I am glad I have my husband and four children here to support me, look after me, and vice versa. It is so nice not to be alone. I'm also grateful for my precious and completely oblivious baby boy. All he knows right now is that he needs his mama. Same with my two-year-old daughter who has continued to be as precocious as ever. She has never even met her Auntie Barb so this really means nothing to her, but I am grateful for her offer of tissues when she saw me crying earlier. :heart:

Thank you, it really is so terrible and sudden. It's hard. I wish there was something I could do, but I know there is nothing apart from being there for the rest of my family. It's weird, this whole grief thing... it's certainly not linear. I now understand what people mean when they talk about the stages of grief, how there is no particular order or logic, how it's different for everyone, and especially the term "waves of grief." When they come, you surf them. When it's calm, you are grateful for the time to recoup before the next wave comes.
Don't feel stupid. I'm afraid I may have scared everyone away, but honestly, I am happy to talk about normal things as well. And I'm really glad you love your carousel pig. ^.^ It was a bit of risk because it was such a crazy specific item, so it really is a relief to know it paid off. :P

One was really late term too, and I can tell you, for me, I did not want to talk about it. I still don't want to talk about it. And having those messages of "Sorry for your loss, and thinking of you" were for me the best, because it showed that people did care about it, but they left me alone to deal with it how I wanted to. I am sure if you wanted to talk to someone about it, then all you need to do is say. I mean, I don't even know you and I'd be willing to talk to you about it.
Anyway... don't feel bad about dealing with your grief however you want to deal with it. It's yours and no one elses. Massive hugs to you :hug:

Thanks so much, xeevee. :hug: And you're right, we all experience grief differently... what comforts one may be upsetting to another. While I haven't been thrilled with all the copy and paste sympathies and "condolences" (what are those, anyway? lol), I do realize that no one is going out of their way to be insensitive or impersonal. It's a way to acknowledge the situation without running the risk of saying the wrong thing.
Two miscarriages in a year, and one that was late-term?? I don't blame you for not wanting to talk about it. I think a lot of people aren't sure what to do with the news of a miscarriage since they are relatively common and in most cases, early on in the pregnancy. And because most occur before the gender is known, a miscarried child often has no name. It might be easier for those outside the situation to feel a deeper sense of sympathy if the gender is known, and even more so if the name is known. Still, common or not, it is a major loss not to be downplayed. It is very real and raw for the parents, and like any loss, one you never quite "get over." I'm very sorry you had to go through that. As a mom, it breaks my heart to hear. :hug:
