Meh, this is about what I expected. I think I would have liked it as a kifd. The characters' head-to-body ratio feels off. I could swear the changed the mark design.

Thank you. I'm now looking for a web hotel to register firstnamelastname.se :)
I've been glancing at Binero, ManuFrog and EgenSajt, but Inleed has ridiculously good prices.

Are these rare or expensive? The one with shortened lashes honestly look a lot better!

The idea is to keep the site as a portfolio, yes. And possibly, to promote any future publications. I guess I'll always keep my own last name, no matter what. Gotta have to ponder this for a bit ...

Off Topic / Web savy peeps? (I need suggestions)

I have decided to get my own web domain so that I can do whatever I want in WordPress. Setting up a corner on the web where I can have my own art gallery, writing projects and my CV seems approperiate since I have one semster left on my front end web development education. But what domain name do I choose?

It is a given that I choose a common top domain, like .com or .se. I would prefer my first name for the domain, but that is of course taken by one of these companies that just hog names. I could use firstnamelastname.something, but the problem is my last name. It is uncommon and has an "ä" in it, and I figure if people always ask me how it is spelled irl, how will they find me online? Should I use "ä" or "a"? Another option would be using my spouse's last name, but this is complicated for several reasons. For one, it is a common name and my first name plus this last name is taken on both .com and .se, and I don't know if I feel like adding a .eu to roster. Second, I'm not married yet!

This is personal webiste so any name won't do. I feel like it should be connected to my person, but I don't know how. What would you suggest? Do have a personal website of your own? What is it called and what have you done with it?

My, the Lost Ocean one seems to have grabbed me too! It's just ... well, I really feel like I should be doing my own art, too. Also I don't know where to even begin with so many empty fields. Of course, if you post more coloured in pages I might change my mind.

Off Topic / Re: Bothvar battles depression.
« on: November 16, 2015, 12:11:15 PM »
Writing about your depression is one way to deal with it, so well done! Being depressed sucks so bad, and I imagine the siuation that you've been put in because of it doesn't help. But you can get out of it. I did, so I know you can too!

I had a lot of help, both profesional theraphy and private talks with a family member. I could not get well before I had processed what got me into that state in the first place; the mental (and mildly physical) abuse, the year-long harassment I faced in school and the fights that caused me to move away from home. Once I had a safe haven I had to rebuild my self esteem from the ground. I took at least three years before I felt like a person again. For a long time I've felt like a piece of me was permanently lost, but ten years later I have made it to a stage where I feel not the same, but whole again.

I know it's hard, but try to find someone to open up to. Sometimes professional help is necessary, because even if people love you dearly, sharing the burden of a depression may be hoplessly though. Therapy may give you an understanding of your feelings, and the tools to get around them. Also, try to find something to strive for, even if that's equally hard. A reason to get out of bed. An opportunity to feel good about who you are and what you can achive. Force yourself to take a healing walk, breath some fresh air and listen to the sounds of nature. If it's hard to go alone, try asking someone to accompany you. If you can't find the strength to do something constructive at home like tidying or baking, begin by offering someone help with that, even if isn't by doing much. Just get active in some way.

Lastly, I know the current job situation sucks too. What kind of job are you looking for? Where I come from, they are always looking for help at the nursing homes, and you have the chance to get your foot in the door during summer when everyone wants to have their vacation. Perhaps you could think about what opportunities you have to try a job you always wanted, or never gave a second thought. Or, you could dare to think about dream job and what it would take to get you there. I know from experience that if you believe you have a chance, you actually to have a chance. It's easy to say, but try to believe, or at the very least, dare to dream. It may be hard to think about keeping a job when you can barely handle life as it is, but try to see it as a healing experience, a driving force, a source of renewed energy.

These things are individual and very hard to talk about. Please note that I don't intend to undermine your feelings, just steer your mind onto new paths. I wish you all luck! And remember, you are not alone.

Off Topic / Re: Welcome all Swedish members! [English thread]
« on: November 02, 2015, 09:41:31 AM »
I've totally missed this thread!

My name is Johanna, and I go by Whisper Wind or Whispering Wind at Druvdalen. Sadly I didn't really contribute to the activity there, being much the lurker.

I was born in 1990 and according to my mother Sunburst (or "Snygg" as a childhood friend dubbed him) was my first pony. My favourites include Moonstone (or "Planeten") that I got from my aunt, Baby Explorer (or "Lofty"). I knew Fizzy and Morning Glory from the Movie and made sure to get them when I started collecting. At the moment I'm deep in the G2 swamp trying to catch the ones that got away.

I'm currently studying my final year to become a front-end web developer. I hope to find a job where I get to either administrate a site, edit images or produce texts. I write a book in my spare time that never seems to get finished, but I keep swearing it's nearing completion. When I'm not writing I'm drawing!

My SO is an animé fan. Personally I like Studio Ghibli movies. Besides reading some manga series like Ranma 1/2 and Death Note I have also watched the series Neon Genesis Evangelion, D. Grey-Man, Naruto, and Attack on Titan. I'm certain I'm forgetting something. As of now I'm infatuated with the western animated series Gravity Falls, though.

*Gasp* Ooo-oooh! I love the G1-retro look. And look at the pancakes with Fizzy ice cream, eeee~!

Makes me wonder how you get a permit for this. I would love to see the choice of décor if a pony fan closer to me opened up a place like this.

Is there somewhere online where I can view them? What I've seen so far has been a bit underwhelming, but I guess there isn't much to choose from. I remember seeing a Chrom figure in Japan, but it was much chibified, reminiscent of the Funko Pops. Just not my cup of tea.

Nice. Creative and humorous, I love it. Best of luck with the project.

Thank you!

Sorry if I came of as aggressive, I just really don't fancy the whole quoting business. It's mainly due to people posting pictures after pictures on Facebook with a sunset plus a quote - that 'somehow' was always in italics - in hopes of thinking they look wise or something, I don't know.

No no, I totally get that. I hate when people are stealing other people's materials to look smart. I also hate turning in things I did not make myself in its entirety but alas, when you have an assignment you need to prioritise; I could have spent the entire week pondering the perfect original saying when I am only really just being graded for implementing the necessary parts. :| It kind of sucks because as a future front end web developer, you need to know just taking materials is not okay, but thankfully at least our lecturers make sure to remind us of that every so often.

It's just a matter of one course at a time, I guess. In my next assignment for this course I need to produce and edit a video myself. Now that will be a challenge, but the result will be entirely my own. :D

"It's good to be random." -me

"A champion in defeat is still a champion." -me LOL.. seriously..

I like your personal quotes Hannah. A little extra effort goes a long way, and feels meaningful too. That and, well, I know I have said some weird things too and I try to scribble them down when I do so that I may go back and laugh at them. Being a scatterbrain has its upsides. Too bad my slip-ups translate so badly to English.
