Lol those are what I bought...only at an offer of $36.   It was 2x peachy though and one bowtie I made a mistake before.  I am glad you say they were not too bad condition, I think they will be ok with a clean and a tidy up :)

Ooooohh thanks for answering, I was beginning to think I had posted in the wrong place/ asked such a ridiculously stupid question that nobody wanted to answer LOL.  100 views with one answer!  Thanks a lot that helps, plus I can maybe go about finding an unloved greek until I can afford a minty one  :)

MLP Nirvana / Prices on good quality vs bad quality Greeks

I am new collector (with a soft spot for the ponies who have seen better days) and I am just desperate for a Greek nirvana.  Could someone give me a rough estimate of how much I should expect to pay for a Greek earth pony in relatively good condition (loose though) and then a what is a fair price for those in need of TLC ( e.g with haircuts, faded/ bleeding symbols, and marks etc).

Also if there are any members who live in Greece I am visiting Athens later this year and do so quite often to visit my husbands family there. I know the chances are more than likely slim to none but is there anywhere any members no of where I might have a chance of picking up a Greek pony in the wild, and have any of the Greek members ever done so (I was thinking along the lines of flea markets, like the old side of monestaraki)?

Pony Corral / Re: G1 restoration questions

Thanks for all the help :). Would never in a million years have thought of  the toothpaste !  The ponies that need fading are moondancer (just her horn), wind whistler NSS and the one I am most concerned about is banana sundae, she still smells a bit but is covered in pink highlighter, I would like to fix her without causing any more damage as she is just so pretty  :)

Oh and no Blue Belles fore locks are cut so the hair is still in there.

Ah thanks re the hot water thing, I was worried that the squished legs might be un- fixable.  Sorry if this is a stupid question but does sun fading fade the pony's original colour?

Pony Corral / G1 restoration questions
« on: September 10, 2015, 12:41:37 PM »
Here's the list of questions my job lot of ponies have thrown up.

1.  FF Blue belle - missing fore locks...should I attempt to replace them?
2.  Pen marks and highlighter marks- how can I get rid of them? Have tried a wash in washing up liquid and magic eraser (not having any luck with the magic eraser and wondering if I have the wrong brand? As I have heard that this works?)
3.How can I get rid of stains from tail rust in tail hair?
4. Re pinking hair...should I? And how do I?
5. Snowflake's symbols are well rubbed and barely visible, am I correct in thinking I can repainted them with metallic acrylic paint? If not advice please.
6. Legs which look squished  :(can they be fixed and how?

Hope that's not all too much, I figure they are all questions I will only have to ask once  :)

Pony Brag Arena / First brag
« on: September 10, 2015, 12:28:23 PM »
This will be my first brag ( and my first real post come to think of it).  My first job lot buy was delivered today.  I ended up with...

Cotton candy (collectors pose)
Applejack
Cherries jubilee
Lickety split
Posey  (with white hair and white flowers?)
Tootsie
Kiss curl
Snowflake
Tutti fruity
Windy NSS
Fifi
Banana surprise
A pony bride ( don't know a lot about this one )
And.....this is the best bit imo...
A FF Blue belle!  I am especially pleased with her as I thought she was going to be a duplicate CP, she is the first FF I have so am happy.

It worked out at £2 per pony so I think I did quite well ( correct me if I am mistaken)

They are in varying conditions with some more "loved" than others and needing some  TLC, but after an initial wash up they are all looking at lot better and I don't think there is anything too major that can't be fixed.  I am about to post some questions regarding tidying them up a bit in Pony Corral so any advice would be gratefully received .

My collection is growing fast and I have just realised I am going to have to now figure out some sort of storage solution!! :)

Introductions / newbie saying hello
« on: September 07, 2015, 12:43:18 PM »
Hi everybody and thanks for having me :D

Well where to start now...I am 33 and live in the UK.  I have only very recently started collecting so right now I only have a few ponies (12 with a bundle buy of 15 which I am waiting to be delivered!) and I  am still very much learning as I go.  I owned a couple ( and I mean literally a couple) of ponies in my childhood but my parents would never buy me more.

I started off my collection with just one of the ponies I had originally(reliving my childhood) with no intention of buying more.  Then following the birth of my son I was diagnosed with M.E/CFS and as a result have been forced to accept some pretty extreme lifestyle changes, the biggest being reducing my activity levels.  Bordom set in quickly as I was previously an extremely active person and I guess I was looking for something to do that didn't require too much of my physical energy.  I started doing amigurumi as a stress reliever/ boredom breaker and just happened upon a pony pattern which I made.  From there I honestly don't know what happened but I have quickly become addicted (I am thinking it's because as an adult I can buy them myself and no one can tell me no.....although  husband is already enforcing a pony allowance  )

Should have said its G1 ponies all the way for me and I have discovered that I am not too picky about condition ( I am a sucker for the forlorn and unloved).  I love anything purple so I love ponies with purple!!  I would like to explore some restoration once I get the confidence to give it a go.  Also my husband is Greek so I would just love to get my hands on a couple of Greek ponies when I can. :)

I'll be very grateful for all the knowledge and info you guys are sure to have. I haven't really been involved in a forum before so give me a nudge if I inadvertently do anything wrong. Thanks again.
