That Mega Charizard X costume is epic! You did a great job with it, Dainty! :D

I entered both categories (Favorite Pokemon and Dress-Up Pikachu) for the Pokemon Art Academy contest. For Favorite Pokemon, I drew Mewtwo wielding a giant spoon like it did in the Pokemon Adventures manga. For Dress-Up Pikachu, I drew Pikachu cosplaying as a Seel. Go to Miiverse, find the Pokemon Art Academy community, click Related in the left upper corner to take you to where entries for both categories can be seen. Mewtwo is on the third page under Favorite Pokemon and has my Beachball name attached. Pikachu cosplaying as Seel is on the third page under Dress-Up Pikachu with my Beachball name. :D

I need to steal that oddish. So adorably cute :)

I used to have a bunch of plushies and stuff but I downsized all my collections and only kept with my ponies and Jems. Now I only have plushes of the pokemon I like best - I have a large Wobbuffet and a small one, a small Gardevoir, a Ralts, a Kirlia, a Gallade and a Vileplume. I still need an Oddish, but I'm trying to be good since space is driving me nuts :)

Pokemon Toy Peeps - I Need Your Expertise!
« Reply #129 on: April 02, 2015, 05:31:52 PM »
Back in the day ('99/'00), I bought one of these figures: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Hasbro_electronic_figures

I couldn't resist Bulbasaur, who was on clearance at a comic shop for $1.  We had many fond moments together, until I got bored with it after a couple days.  Came in that exact packaging.  Never thought twice on who produced the toy.

Found a Mew figure not long after via the second-hand market.  Again, never thought twice on who made the toy.

Bulby & Mew found a new home sometime before '05 (either through here, the TP, or eBay - don't remember).

So...yesterday I found Mew, Evee, and Psyduck at the thrift store.  Tried to ID them (they're just called electronic figures).  The wiki says Hasbro made them, but they are clearly marked 1998 Tomy!

Googled "Electronic Pokemon Figure Tomy" and found the exact figures, but in clear bubble-like boxes instead of the red US packaging.

What's the deal?

Did Hasbro buy a bunch of Tomy toys and sell them on the US market without adding their brand stamp?

I'm so confused!

I have a Lapras one that says TOMY but all my others say Hasbro. The hasbro ones I got in stores here (around 2000) and the Lapras one was off ebay so maybe it was from Japan, originally?

I HAVE THE LUGIA!!!! :cheer: check my collection page in the Pokemon Swap thread, first page!!!!

Also, while they are the TOMY brand, Hasbro distributed a lot of the pikemon toys here in the US (the awesome toys with the blue and red line designs with pikachu jumping out!) especially the Takara TOMY Monster Collection toys. The electronic pokemons in their red boxes have the Hasbro logo on it but i think there was black text that said TOMY on it somewhere...

I used to have the electronic Psyduck and Togepi!!!

OMG Spiffy you got EEeeVVEE!?? If you ever wanna sell it please come to mee! Ive been looking for that one, even if it doesnt work!
